THINGS TO WATCH

  1. WIll Gaborik, Koivu and Brunette line up together again? They had flashes last night, and sustained pressure. Hopefully they will gel.
  2. Brent Burns and Pierre-Marc Bouchard finally hit the ice. Will their rust show?
  3. Tyler Cuma. The youngster will likely be headed back to his junior team tomorrow, but it'lll be nice to see the future in action.
  4. The progress of Colton Gillies. Got a goal last night, hopefully he'll continue to build on what has been an excellent preseason. The kid is likely going to make the team, so let's see if he continues to earn that spot.
  5. First back-to-back games. Tonight is a chance to see if they are up to match fitness.
  6. Benoit Pouliot. He has vanished a bit in shifts, which is his M.O. so far. If he wants to stick around and be the 4th center, he'll need to show Jacques that those ways are behind him.

3-1 Minnesota… looks like the home team will hold on for the win, barring disaster.

Three first-period goals for the Wild – Miettinen, Nolan on the power play, and Burns shorthanded. Even better, Marc-Andre Bergeron hasn’t been in a fight yet. (Sure, he’s not playing. But still.)

Josh Harding may have been hurt… not sure how or when.

Harding's injury

Harding left the game in the third period after taking a stick in the face… from MARTIN SKOULA. The guy’s not only allowing goals, he’s hurting his teammates.

FINAL: Minnesota 3, Buffalo 2

The Sabres scored a goal at about 19:59.999 in the third period – to the point that the horn went off and the Wild’s celebration song played.

Harding

Hope its Nothing to serious. Need that Backup to spell Backstrom.

Nice win for the Wild.
