NOTES:

  • Wild seek their eighth consecutive victory over the Phoenix Coyotes.
  • Marian Gaborik and Owen Nolan are not on the trip
  • Tom Lynn said Gaborik will be re-evaluated next week. The team had Gaborik skate Thursday on a trial basis, but it was determined that more rest is required.
  • Antti Miettinen missed Friday’s practice with a "lower body" injury. He is probable against the Coyotes.
  • Mikko Koivu was named captain for November. One small step toward permanency.
  • This road trip for the Wild will be about trying to unearth secondary scoring to help the Andrew Brunette-Mikko Koivu-Antti Miettinen line. When the line scores a goal, the Wild wins (5-0, including a shootout win on Miettinen's goal). In the three games it's been blanked, the Wild is 1-2-1.

Questions to Answer

  1. Will Ed Jovanovski continue his otherworldly performances against the Wild tonight? That dude has owned us.
  2. Will anyone not named Antti, Andrew or Mikko shoot tonight?
  3. Can special teams bounce back?
  4. Can they put their foot on the throat of an overmatched team?
  5. How much do Rick Tocchet and Janet Gretzky have riding on tonight's game?
