Holy crap! Look at those injuries! How on earth do they even field a complete team?

Notes
  • Marian Gaborik, "If I would need to rest it, I’d definitely consider it. But I’m playing tonight and hopefully everything’s going to be good."
  • Eric Belanger is out . Krys Kolanos will take his spot. Colton Gillies is in and if Gaborik can’t play, then Weller will.
  • Kyle Okposo is indeed expected to play tonight.
  • Mike Comrie is set to return to the lineup after missing the past 17 games with a hip injury.
  • Russo says Lemaire is unavailable as is Risebrough. Is a move in the works? Rosters lock tonight at midnight tonight for a week.
  • The Islanders have allowed an NHL-worst 115 goals.
Questions to Answer
  1. Does Gaborik play? If he does, will he be tentative?
  2. With Kolanos, Gillies, Clutterbuck and Pouliot all in the lineup, will the youth movement prevail?
  3. Should Reitz be the odd man out?
  4. When the team giving up the most goals plays the team scoring the least amount of goals, can the anemic offense get the boost they require?
  5. Is a trade actually in the works?

Look at those injuries! How on earth do they even field a complete team?

Not very well, is how :)

But Okposo is back, and so is Comrie (which version, we do not know), each after lengthy injuries.

Okposo

I hope they Boo his Ass out of the Xcel Center.

hee hee

I was wondering how the reaction would be. The Isles broadcast said he had to buy 40 tickets.

And I was expecting some, “Oh, so this is how you develop a player, Garth? In this environment?”

Nice to see that late goal. Really needed that. Hopefully it’s proven that MacDonald can be beaten and the floodgates will open in the 3rd

by nathaneide on Dec 19, 2008 8:39 PM CST reply actions

Doug Weight and Bill Guerin are the leading scorers for the Isles. What is this, 1997?

by nathaneide on Dec 19, 2008 8:52 PM CST reply actions

the Wild are playing so much better than the Islanders right now. How they’re not leading by 3 or 4 is all because of Joey MacDonald.

by nathaneide on Dec 19, 2008 8:53 PM CST reply actions

Colton Gillies with his first career goal. Good for you kid. Assists from Kolanos and Boogard.

by nathaneide on Dec 19, 2008 8:55 PM CST reply actions

Are the Wild announcers as good as the U. of Minnesota announcers?

No, I'm serious!

I love those U. of M announcers. Just call it like they see it, actually talk about the game.

(I’ve got a Minnesota-native teammate, so he forces me to watch.)
