Tonight's lines:
|
Minnesota Wild |
New York Islanders |
|
Brunette - Koivu - Mittens Johnsson - Schultz Backstrom |
Bergenheim - Weight - Guerin Witt - Streit |
Holy crap! Look at those injuries! How on earth do they even field a complete team?
Notes
- Marian Gaborik, "If I would need to rest it, I’d definitely consider it. But I’m playing tonight and hopefully everything’s going to be good."
- Eric Belanger is out . Krys Kolanos will take his spot. Colton Gillies is in and if Gaborik can’t play, then Weller will.
- Kyle Okposo is indeed expected to play tonight.
- Mike Comrie is set to return to the lineup after missing the past 17 games with a hip injury.
- Russo says Lemaire is unavailable as is Risebrough. Is a move in the works? Rosters lock tonight at midnight tonight for a week.
- The Islanders have allowed an NHL-worst 115 goals.
- Does Gaborik play? If he does, will he be tentative?
- With Kolanos, Gillies, Clutterbuck and Pouliot all in the lineup, will the youth movement prevail?
- Should Reitz be the odd man out?
- When the team giving up the most goals plays the team scoring the least amount of goals, can the anemic offense get the boost they require?
- Is a trade actually in the works?

Not very well, is how :)
But Okposo is back, and so is Comrie (which version, we do not know), each after lengthy injuries.

hee hee
I was wondering how the reaction would be. The Isles broadcast said he had to buy 40 tickets.
And I was expecting some, “Oh, so this is how you develop a player, Garth? In this environment?”

Interesting. Looks like it’s Brunette – Koivu – Bouchard right now. Still think Gaborik should be on that line.
Is it even Jacques?
I haven’t checked, but with Tremblay running things today, I wasn’t sure who was going to run the show tonight.

What is it with this team
we score vs Big Name Goalies like Kiprusoff…But we get shut out against no Name goalies Like Joey McDonald.
If recent form holds...
then just give it time.

Damn Greenlay Screwing up the call on the goal again…
Are the Wild announcers as good as the U. of Minnesota announcers?
Lighthouse Hockey: an SB Nation New York Islanders blog with hip issues.
No, I'm serious!
I love those U. of M announcers. Just call it like they see it, actually talk about the game.
(I’ve got a Minnesota-native teammate, so he forces me to watch.)

Ah, that’s too bad. I know I’ve heard them once or twice, but I can’t recall.
