Minnesota Wild Schedule Announcement

I heard through the grapevine that the Wild would release their schedule today and the grapevine was partially correct. The Minnesota Wild announced their season opener game today. DRUMROLL, PLEASE . . . The Minnesota Wild season will officially start on Saturday October 11th at the Xcel Energy Center vs. the Boston Bruins.

The complete Wild Schedule is slated to be released Thursday by the NHL - only one day later than what the grapevine reported...that's not bad.

If you remember last years season opener, it was on Wednesday October 10th vs. the Edmonton Oilers and the Wild beat the Oilers 2-0. The Wild have a history of winning the opener. I am going to try and get some tickets to the game and head out to the X for the opener this year, but I am sure it won't be cheap! The ticket brokers have to love this - an opener on a Saturday night vs. an East coat rival like Boston. It's golden.

Woo hoo!

I can’t wait for the season to start. This should be a great match-up.

when

when is the NHL going to wise up and changed the scheduling. From what I read, the Wild only play 3 out of conference teams. It stinks not being able to face off against the Maple Leafs, and the Pens, and the Canadians

You should check it again.

You should check the schedule again, they play all three of the teams you mentioned, they play the Pens twice. They Have nine home games against Eastern Conf. teams. I may be wrong but I thought the league changed to everyone playing everyone again, maybe not at the X but I believe they play everyone again now.

No

As a hockey fan, I would not say your stupid. The fact that you are checking a Wild blog in the middle of the summer tells me that you are probably much more informed than at least 17,950 people at any Wild game. I posted a rebut about your statements that later realized that at least two things I said were wrong. We only play Pit. once and they play four road games in Feb, here I’m wrong again, because that was in a whole different post. the fun of an open blog like this is that we can openly exhange ideas and opinions, with the realization that if you took the time to find this blog, you most likely want and hope for the best for our team even though we may dffer in opinions of how to get there. hell a lot of the time I log into a site like this, I am half in the bag anyhow. I would hate for anyone to say that, I’m stupid for the things I say, even though I am pretty consistant in the idea and can be wrong.
Although I am a gigantic hockey fan and a huge Wild fan, I am pretty new to the blogging and message board thing. I would like to thank MN Wild Freak for putting up this site and allowing us to contribute. I appreciate him/her posting a couple of my messages dispite the obvious lack of attention to punctuation and grammar. It is nice to have place to talk the about the game I love and get some feedback good or bad, I post a lot on the Yahoo sports Wild page, but usually get any response.

Tricky, this year to MARCH to the playoffs

Did anyone notice that the Wild only have four home games in March out of sixteen? Might not be all that bad if they can rally around themselves and consider it a challenge to win a majority of those games. March is usually a big month as far as standings and positioning go, not to mention the, I’m not sure but believe the trade deadline is in March, could be wrong on that though. The flip side is they have only three road games in Feb. personally I would rather have it the opposite because of the fatigue factor as the season drags on. anyhow I am sure it’s gonna be a great year and see ya all at Allorey’s.
