Preseason opens tonight at the X!

The Wild take the Xcel ice for the first time in the 2008-2009 season tonight, squaring off against the Columbus Blue Jackets. If you're interested in getting in, word on the street is that there are many good seats still available, even at the $24 level.

Andrew Brunette and the team of 18,000 is ready to play!

Tonight's lines:

Brunette-Koivu-Miettinen
Gillies-Sheppard-Nolan
Hamilton-Kolanos-Irmen
Veilleux-Pouliot-Weller

Schultz-Johnsson
Bergeron-Zidlicky
Mojzis-Reitz

Look for the first game thread of the year later tonight!

Just saw the "Under New Management" post on Twinkie Town...

And I couldn’t be more thrilled. Congrats, Mr. neide – you’re now my first stop for Wild news and opinion every day.

Thanks Jon!

I look forward to seeing your unique brand of wit over here on occasion as well.

I'll have to rewrite all my Twins jokes.

Let’s see… Nick Punto is short, that can translate to “Pierre-Marc Bouchard is short…” Dennys Reyes is pudgy, that can translate to “Derek Boogaard is, uh, tall”… Carlos Gomez is scatterbrained, that can translate to “Doug Risebrough is scatterbrained…”

Good luck!

Oh yeah. I was in Minnesota for my girlfriend’s brother’s wedding last summer. I stole a pint glass from a bar that had the Wild logo on one side and the NHL logo on the other.

I was opening a beer last week, the cap was really on there, and when I finally got it off the bottle jerked downward, catching my only NHL pint glass on its rim and shattering it into a billion pieces.

Sigh.

I take that as a sign – you just cursed the Wild’s season.

For the record, I dropped a crate of 200 Leafs glasses before last season but didn’t want to tell ya. Sorry bout that one.

Gaborik Column

FYI – Posted my thoughts on the Gaborik situation on my blog. Just the perspective of an outsider.

Boston!?

Sorry if we’re a little wary of anyone from Boston talking about “Minnesota” and “Trades” in the same sentence. It’s not that it may not be a great idea, it’s just that we are sick of giving you guys titles, that’s all.

Thanks for coming by! Don’t be a stranger.

HI!

Hey I’m Loser Domi, another frequent hanger-outer over at Pension Plan Puppets( a very fine Leafs blog) and I just wanted to say hi and wish you guys good luck. Or break a leg. Whichever floats your boat

Making stuff up since real Leafs news is far too depressing
