Pouliot to Houston

According to sources, a very upset Benoit Pouliot stormed out of the locker room with all his equipment during tonight’s game against Edmonton after apparently being told he was being demoted to the AHL Houston Aeros.

No announcement of a reassignment was made during the game, but it makes sence.
Minor-leaguer Krys Kolanos, who scored against the Oilers, has essentially taken his job. Pouliot, 22, was scratched in six of the last 11 games. Since Nov. 15, Pouliot had no goals and four assists.
By sending Pouliot to the minors, the Wild saves more than $800,000 against the salary cap.

I agree with neide. This should about do it for Pouliot. Look for a new star in the KHL in the coming months.

Yet another failed draft choice (Voloshenko, Khadubin, Thelen, Pouliot). At least by saving the $800k, they’re going to have $2mm to play with at the deadline. Now, will they actually do something with it?
