Tonight's lines:
|
Minnesota Wild |
Boston Bruins |
|
Miettinen - Koivu - Brunette Burns - Schultz Harding |
Axelsson - Savard - Kessel Chara - Ward |
NOTES:
- Boston will try to avoid its first consecutive defeats since October.
- The Bruins are 14-2-1 at home.
- The Wild are ranked second behind the Bruins with a 2.26 team GAA.
- Backstrom made 29 saves in his only visit to Boston, a 2-1 Minnesota win on March 8, 2007.
- The Wild have never lost at TD Banknorth Garden, winning all four visits as part of their 7-1-0 record all-time against the Bruins, who have scored 13 total goals in the series.
- Stephane Veilleux is sick. Derek Boogaard has an upper body injury that’s keeping him out of a second straight game tonight. (Anyone else think it's from his beating of Jody Shelley?)
Questions to Answer
- Apparently Manny was a bit moody talking to Russo, Shipley and Tom Reid. Will the Wild get in his head?
- The Wild have played 3 solid games in a row on both ends of the ice. Will that continue tonight?
- Is tonight the night that the Wild's streak at TD Banknorth Garden ends?
- Will Benoit Pouliot perform well while being out of the doghouse for one night?
- Will we watch Kessel and Wheeler, then look at Mariucci Arena and ask "What if?"

Boy, the Bruins are really crashing the net hard. Would love to see the Wild do a lot more of that.

The Wild look slow and tired tonight. They really need to pick things up here.

Wild having major issues taking the zone. It’s mostly dump and chase right now.

Kessel and Wheeler
I enjoyed watching both these guys when they were with the Gophers. So far, they are looking very good in this game.
Wish we had em.

Great Job
An excellent job by Backstrom and Kim Johnson in this game. Since nobody else was in the thread with me heres my 3 stars
1st star Backstrom
2nd star Marek Zidlicky (goal)
3rd star Lemaire for starting to right the ship
This team has competed very hard against the best teams in the league in the last week. Lemaire deserves some of the credit.

I could not agree with you more
Now, maybe with the Gaborik issue behind them, the team can know their identity and get back to playing the system. Smart defense, quality transition, skate, skate, skate and take advantage of spectacular special teams play.
