- Can Sheppard and Pouliot pick up their play, especially since the team needs them more than ever?
- Can Nathan Smith and Andy Hilbert provide anything?
- Do the new d-pairings shore-up the blue line?
- Do the Wild dig themselves another hole?
- Will the Ryans strike again?

I'm still extremely pissed that Gabby Left
What about the Rangers screams they are a winning team?…Nothing to me.
Stats
Rangers are 5-1 soon to be 6-1 on the season. I think Merriam Webster would agree that qualifies as “winning”
Tonights Scratches
Sifers, Boogaard, Sykora, Bouchard, and Clutterbuck
LA is a Basketball/Baseball town
Lakers season just getting under way and the Angels and Dodgers in both their respective Championships..I don’t think anybody cares about hockey there
GOD DAMNIT
What the sam hell is wrong with these fuckin guys. Act like they have never played defense in thier career. just gross to watch. They cant even keep my attention for 10 fuckin minutes in the first! FUCK

And to think.....
This morning when I was reading the paper, I saw that the wild were on FSN at 9. I thought to myself, “cool I will stay up and watch after the boy goes to bed” Lucky me….

I've got nothing but love Backstrom
What the hell is he supposed to do? He’s making some good saves; he needs to pick up the team, but you can’t expect him to do it all…
Side note....
Love the EA sports NHL 10 commercial. “The good ole hockey game” song stuck in my head

Trades
Think it might be time to start shopping Nolan and Brunette to potential playoff bubble teams. This team will need to turn things around massively within the next month to show that they have even a slight chance of postseason play. This will be a hideous first half of the season.

What value do we have?
The only guy on the team in my opinion besides Backs and Burns is Koivu..and I don’t wan’t to get rid of any of the 3..especially Backs after how horrid Harding was against LA
just get rid of them
and some minor league talent, right? What do you think would be beneficial? defenseman from a good offensive-minded team?
We are screwed...
no talent that we can afford to lose in Houston and MN. No picks…..need picks…..so not many options.

i'm a new fan...
who/what is developing in Houston that the Wild are waiting for? Are they not worth shopping for an already established NHL star?
Very litte from what I read....

No talent
At least no bug time young talent. Sure there is a decent AHL roster there, but nobody who is going to step in and produce.

what about kalus?
he was with the Wild last year wasn’t he?
Yeah, same with McMillan, but they’re still in juniors

Biggest Name we have in Houston is Colton Gillies
the Risebrough Regime completely Destroyed the Minor League system
Cross that bridge when we get there
I’m not saying I think this will be a playoff team, I don’t and never really did. I do hope they look like they might deserve it at the end of the year, but I do not think it is time to start trading personell now—unless we can get blockbuster prospect in return.
I do agree
After its determined that we wont make playoffs, Nolan and Bruno are the only guys we should trade

so is this teams problem
the coaching/system change?
I think so...having a slow time of things learning the offense and defense...
But I also think its a Lack of talent on the roster..Having Clutterbuck and Sykora out doesn’t help either
So far....
I see the same team even when Buck and Sykora were playing

Partly
There is a lot of the “old system” engrained in this group, IMHO.
Unfortunately, and feel free to rebuke me here, I am seeing a ton of fundamental mistakes. Probably a function of mentally attempting to decide which system to play, but mistakes that should not be made at this level.
It shouldn’t happen, but a large part of fixing it is up to the coach. Since Richards hasn’t had much time with these guys, I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt for a while.
hey, look at the bright side though...
at least Gaborik is off to a hot start…
Hehe, I'm fine with that, good for him
He’ll miss some games for the blueshirts soon enough ;)
Plus, we would have been in a world of salary cap hurt had he taken the offer last October. It would have been nice to have that kind of scoring for this team, but would they still win games?
It won't be worth it to pursue trades
until we get down the stretch. We’re not going to get anything worthwhile in return for Nolan or Bruno right now.
No
But once we hit December, it’s time to start pushng those 2 hard. We need picks and youth.

they look alright
when theyre in the offensive zone, set up lots of good chances. But for as good as they look in the offensive end, they look just as horrid on defense.
Not a bad start to the 2nd.
at least putting some pressure on.
"Baseball doesn't owe me a thing. I owe my whole life to baseball." -Kirby Puckett
Next off-season we have to go after guys with Talent...Some Free Agents include
Patrick Marleau, Ilya Kovalchuk, Lee Stempniak, only 3 young guys i can think of…
not going after Saku Koivu
we already have a Koivu. :)
"Baseball doesn't owe me a thing. I owe my whole life to baseball." -Kirby Puckett
Couple of great saves there… Doing all he can to make sure we don’t get some momentum. Hope the boys can just keep up the pressure—sooner or later (right?)
yeah, it's bound to happen.
um…hopefully.
"Baseball doesn't owe me a thing. I owe my whole life to baseball." -Kirby Puckett
as long as it doesn't happen like the kings game
trading 2 goals for 1
ughh
I’m pretending that game was never even played.
Ugly.

Uh, guys?
This is YOUR power play. Just letting you know.

Who's on the PP right now?
this is disgusting
yeah, pretty much.
very disappointing.

What do players have against
bringing it acrosss the blue line themselves on the PP? why always this retarded dumping business?
Lapanta

I'm so torn about LaPanta
I think he does better with the Twins. Hearing him with the Wild just sounds so…weird. And wrong.

Can we get a couple more of those?
por favor?

Bad hockey.
Fundamental mistakes. It’s like they’re spending all their time worrying about their new assignment that they’ve forgetten how to play hockey
Proprietor of Hockey Wilderness - We take Minnesota hockey WAY too seriously.
do you think the captain business has anything to do with their mental play?
Just wondering…
"Baseball doesn't owe me a thing. I owe my whole life to baseball." -Kirby Puckett
I've been wondering also
I’d like to say no, but honestly who knows? I mean, it shouldn’t matter who has the C, because the guys know who the leader(s) of the team is (are)
Proprietor of Hockey Wilderness - We take Minnesota hockey WAY too seriously.
I'd like to think that, too
but the way they’ve been playing, one has to wonder.
"Baseball doesn't owe me a thing. I owe my whole life to baseball." -Kirby Puckett
hows the captaincy being determined?
its alternating on a game to game basis?
No, right now there is no captain
Richards is waiting until someone steps up. Or so I’ve heard.
"Baseball doesn't owe me a thing. I owe my whole life to baseball." -Kirby Puckett
Uncertain on position, unable to read their line partners
Have we been able to keep a line together for consecutive games yet for these guys to start to read each others tendencies? I see moves like that Havlat centering pass straight pass 2 other Wild players and it just screams it’s a line chemistry problem.
Ughhh, Hiller!
so many opportunities…
"Baseball doesn't owe me a thing. I owe my whole life to baseball." -Kirby Puckett
Hiller's leaving the puck out there
hopefully Wild pick up some slop in the 3rd
Science of Hockey Musuem should be in Minnesota
Place looks kinda fun

Ducks PP
let’s hope they squander this one too. :\

nice!
Backs pressured big time during that one.
"Baseball doesn't owe me a thing. I owe my whole life to baseball." -Kirby Puckett
let's hope not another injury
"Baseball doesn't owe me a thing. I owe my whole life to baseball." -Kirby Puckett
and yet they're getting shots in our end!
"Baseball doesn't owe me a thing. I owe my whole life to baseball." -Kirby Puckett
beyond frustrating...
"Baseball doesn't owe me a thing. I owe my whole life to baseball." -Kirby Puckett
More shots...more non-goals.
:\
"Baseball doesn't owe me a thing. I owe my whole life to baseball." -Kirby Puckett
Agh, stupid phone.
what did they say happened to Havlat?
"Baseball doesn't owe me a thing. I owe my whole life to baseball." -Kirby Puckett
Does Richards not have these guys in shape?
They look tired—even more so than they should be in the 3rd, especially early. Might explain the injury problems, too? (With the exception of Clutterbuck, that was just bad luck.)
I think they're still trying to fit together
especially with the new style. :\
"Baseball doesn't owe me a thing. I owe my whole life to baseball." -Kirby Puckett
Brunette!
Ok, one goal in 9 seconds…do-able.
"Baseball doesn't owe me a thing. I owe my whole life to baseball." -Kirby Puckett
I laughed because
It figures that we score the 2nd goal with not even enough time to give to ducks a run for their money.
see.
hiller doesnt hang on, wild take the slop home…
Ah, well.
At least it didn’t end 3-0. Moral victory.

after this year, though...
all bets are off.
