Mikko Koivu Bobblehead Disaster; Wild: Bad or Unlucky? Daily Links
Minnesota's Koivu latest victim of embarrassingly awful bobblehead - Puck Daddy - NHL - Yahoo! Sports
The bobblehead doll actually costs more ($25) than the starting price for tickets to Wednesday night's game (Oct. 28) against the Nashville Predators ($24), when the doll will be released. Nothing says "quality entertainment" better than a sports ticket that costs less than a paperweight ...
Minnesota Wild: God-awful without Lemaire? Or just unlucky? - Behind The Net
Through nine games (including Friday's game against the St. Louis Blues), the Minnesota Wild have been horrible. At 2-7-0, they're 2nd-last in the NHL, ahead of only Toronto, a team whose failures are well-known. But Minnesota has some new problems: defense. With Jacques Lemaire coaching them, defense has always been a strength, but in their first year without him, they've fallen apart.

What in the blue hell is it going to take for there to be any modicum of consistency out of Colin Campbell’s game show studio of an office when it comes to dangerous hits in the game?
Wild at Blackhawks - 10/26/2009 - NHL.com - Recap
''If we want to make the playoffs, we have to play about .500 on the road, so there are a lot of things we have to catch up on,'' Backstrom said. ''It doesn't matter if the system is new. You have to find a way to win … and pretty soon. Time is running out.''
Wild falls to 0-8 on the road; Gaborik injured; Khudobin on way up | StarTribune.com
The Wild is now 0-8 on the road, the first team since the '96-97 Penguins according to Elias Sports Bureau to open the season with eight games without a point. The last team to go nine straight was the '92-93 Ottawa Senators, who actually went 38 straight to open the season without a point. So, the Wild has a ways to go to accomplish that "feat."
Early season thoughts: Are the Avs for real? - From The Rink
The Todd Richards experiment in Minnesota has thus far resulted in a real mess. For the first time I can remember, the Wild look disorganized.

Puck Daddy RE: Bobblehead
Classic line of the day:
Whatever you do, just don’t take this Minnesota Wild bobblehead on the road — you’ll be sure to lose it.
Oh… SNAP! It hurts, but it is still so very funny.

The bobblehead…just wow.
At least Backs realizes that time is running out. And that going 0-8 on the road is uh…pretty bad. I’d tend to say they’re playing bad (not that they are a bad team, though), and it’s not so much bad luck.

Suckerd
Dear, Wild fans. We have officially been suckered. The Wild have been a pretty decent team sense pro hockeys rebirth in Minnesota. The fans have been 2nd to none while packing the Excel. I’m going to write this year off as coaching change and styles. Thats exactly what the owners want us to do while they line their pockets. Its time for them to pony up and put a real contender on the ice. No where in this great land is hockey loved and appreciated more than in Minnesota. Theres a few places out east that may debate that but here in the land of 10,000 frozen hockey ponds it is still revered.
No Stanley Cup are you kidding me? We are being taken advantage of because of our love for hockey. We need to start making some noise. Everything is here, great arena, great fans, but not enough great players. Thats the owners job. Start putting the pressure on them to get these players. Otherwise they are going sit back and collect our money while put nothing but an average team on the ice.

Who’s been suckered here? Anyone who thought the Wild were going to be a major contending team this year was either delusional or fooling themselves.
It’s a transition year and the team WILL get better as the season goes along but when the organization has only known ONE way of doing things since it started and they’re looking to change things up… Well, you see what’s happening.
Patience is a virtue and Wild fans better have a good grasp on what it’s about or else they’re going to lose their sanity all year long on a team not really worth losing it on.
