Questions to Answer

  1. The Wild seem to have found some kind of identity in the last 5 games, winning 4 of those. Trend or Mirage?
  2. Could it be that adding Owen Nolan to the Belanger-Havlat line, will be the spark Havlat needs?
  3. Johnsson was solid and showed little rust in his first game back in Toronto. Will he see a set-back tonight?
  4. Over/Under on shots on goal by Martin Havlat: 5
  5. With Steven Stamkos looking so good in the early part of this season, can the Wild slow the kid down?

Oy

People on Twitter sure do hate James Sheppard.

Proprietor of Hockey Wilderness - We take Minnesota hockey WAY too seriously.

by nathaneide on Nov 12, 2009 7:08 PM CST reply actions

Because Sheppard is dead weight and a first round bust and he has like one point (0g-1a-1pts) in 16 games.

Way to go kids!!

Love to see these two working together. That always almost too easy!

And that's Sheppard's first point of the season

About time. Now Boogaard needs a goal.

Way to go Johnsson!

Nice to see Johnsson engaging in the play, and Brunette does what he does best, dish from behind the net on the power play.

Nice play—started with a good cycle and Tampa didn’t seem to react very well. Beautiful shot!

Really good PK there on the Burns trip/stick stuck in the skate

Looks like maybe a PP coming up for the Wild after the break?? I couldn’t tell, but the arm went up and I thought Tampa touched it last on the whistle along with the menaching finger to the box right after.

Wild PP!

Tanguay to the box 2:00 for high sticking.

If you look at the goal against the Wild Stamkos actually tripped Hnidy took the puck from him and scored I almost think he slough footed him.

by Eric B on Nov 12, 2009 8:21 PM CST up reply actions

And the shorty strikes again

Stamkos scores with Hnidy down.

by nathaneide on Nov 12, 2009 7:50 PM CST reply actions

Looks like Hnidy twisted his knee and then Backstrom wasn’t ready as I’m sure he expected Hnidy to swing the puck back the other way…

This changes the game a bit.

Niittymaki keeping the Bolts in it

Couple of good chances on the PP; Niittymaki was up to task. Not much else there.

Boogaard

They are really trying to get Boogaard a goal. It is somewhat irritating watching them pass up good chances to get him the puck, but it is making me laugh.

If Niittymaki wasn't playing so well

Keep the pressure on; hope he isn’t giving them too much of a chance. Otherwise, this thing might be C-Bus/Detroit out of control.

BTW, Hnidy is back on the ice (first I’ve noticed, anyway)

Niittymaki is keeping this close

Tampa looks like the Wild from the first couple weeks with all the turnovers.

I don't like the outcome but...

I don’t like that they scored, but what happened to Brodziak there made me laugh.

That penalty made the chuckling stop, however.

Ok

WTF was Clutterbuck thinking there? Did he really take a dive at his own effing blue line?

Bolt PP coming up

I’s like to see what Nolan could do to Downie. ;)

And the hustle out of Clutterbuck every time he is on the ice. Save the “dive” at the blue line that led to the Bolts 2nd goal.

They had that game too. The Lightning had nothing after Nolan’s kickass effort. Then they score after a goofy giveaway. The Wild then decide it is a good time to no longer skate.
