Well, I guess this is essentially trying to shift two guys who may be able to benefit from a change in scenery. I'm not impressed with the trade, but many folks who hated Pouliot will be super excited and all that.

Just another wasted first round draft choice by Doug Risebrough.

Huh.

Certainly seems like a swap of role players, which is odd.

More likely, it is a continuation of Fletcher building a team that will play the way he and Richards want them to play, and making it clear that they are not afraid to make moves.

On the surface, it is pretty blah. Deep down, it may be a sign of more.

Fung Shui

I’m not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing either, but staying the course wasn’t bringing us a lot of success. If we get nothing else out of this, I hope these guys (Latendresse and Ebbett) come in with something to prove and spark our other roster players to compete.

Maybe this move will get Pouliot to show he was worthy of being drafted 4th overall. Heck, Gabby has been on fire since he left, and even Skoula got a couple goals the other night for Pittsburgh. Meanwhile we bring in past finishers (Sykora, Kobasew, Havlat) who suddenly drop off the map for offensive capability. Can these moves turn that around?

The Hochevar Principle: The future comes to all teams. Some teams wait for it. Those teams finish in last place a lot.
