Channel 45 Games Not in HD

I have made sure we are going to be in person (or otherwise indesposed) for all games televised on KSTC 45.

Can we get HockeyJoe to start harping on the league to mandate HD broadcasts? (Maybe he has, I’m not sure?) I mean, I know there are more pressing issues about which to harp on the league office, but having only HD broadcasts might catch a few more fans that would not watch otherwise—which is kind of their m.o. if I’ve been paying attention: only a “few” fans at a time while alienating those that have been around for decades. I mean, I loathe soccer, but I watch it when it is absolutely the only sport happening in HD…

As to the game at hand, I REALLY hope the Wild’s dominance over the Avs continues tonight, but I’ve got that sinking feeling in my gut as we get ready to head down to the X…

Let's Go Wild!

While your at it....

How about getting them to show every televised game to the out-state crowd also. Every game on KSTC or 45 I do not get, since I am up in northern Minnesota. Only FSN games on DirecTV. KSTC is a local channel for anyone in the Twin Cities area but not north of the smog cloud…

Agreed. It is weak that the Wild have no outstate TV partners. You’re telling me that the channels in Duluth or Hibbing would not be willing to put them on the air? Seems odd to me.

The more I see 'em

The more I like the third jersey for the Wild. Whoever designed these beauties needs a raise.

Woah

Harding is taking shots in warm-ups. What happened to Backstrom?

5 Questions

1. Will Backstrom look more confident in game two of “Operation break-in the new gear”?
It is actually his old gear. He hates it, so the comfort level will not be there. SpaethCo says Hards is out there, so…

2. How will Owen Nolan look in his first game back with the club?
I say good. Two assists tonight.

3. Can Martin Havlat continue to build his game?
Yes again. One goal, one assist.

4. Does Jon DiSalvatore get to keep the frequent flier miles he accumulated today since he didn’t get to actually play?
HA! You think he actually got on the plane? That would suck.

5. Why do the Wild hate me? I get an HDTV and none of the games have been in HD!!!

Come on, Nathan. This is too easy.

Harding?

Does Backstrom hate his gear that much? Is
he turning into Manny Fernandez, letting his head control his game?

Backstrom

Strange.. I only caught the last 10 mins of warm-ups and never saw him out there.

Not sure Quincy did anything wrong there…

But Nolan needs the chance to stick up for his teammate. Stupid refs.

I can't help but think

How good would this team be if they were 100% healthy. What would the lines even look like, with Sykora, Bouchard, and Burns all back. And no flu bug going around.

I'm glad they finally showed up AND HOW

The crowd was great there at the end and the team did give us everything we paid for except a win. Now, this play just needs to happen from MINUTE ZERO. The players that are out on the ice, when it seems to click and the hustle kicks in, are doing everything they can and more. Goken is right, I couldn’t help but sit there tonight and wonder (at least in the last 10 minutes) what it would have been like to have a Burns on the point of the PP or a Bouchard to go cause some trouble with Nolan, et. al.

Factoid of the night: Stoner is a stud. That is all.

So I just took a look at some contract info

Mind you, this information is somewhat dated, but the unrestricted free agents to be after this season are…
Nolan
Belanger
Boogaard
Sheppard
Clutterbuck
Johnsson
Zidlicky
Hnidy
Sykora

May I be the first (of hopefully many) to suggest bringing in the likes of one Ilya Kovalchuk. I would do backflips if Fletcher found a way to make that work. Imagine.
Kovalchuk-Koivu-Havlat…
