Minnesota Wild winger Marian Gaborik was evaluated by his surgeon in Vail, Colorado on Sunday. The diagnosis is that the hip is "mechanically repaired" and has healed. Gaborik will return to Minnesota where he will participate in conditioning and strength training to return to game speed and contact-ready status.
A return date at this point is still undetermined, but I'm assuming that the Wild are releasing this information to let other NHL teams know that he is going to be ready to play for the Stanley Cup playoff run in order to spur trade talks.
Assistant GM Tom Lynn:
“Marian [Gaborik] passed his test today in Vail showing his hip is mechanically repaired and healed well. Now he will return to Minnesota for a strengthening program to ramp up to game-ready condition.”
So, what do you think, are the Wild getting him ready to play for them, or for trade bait?
Poll
Are the Wild releasing the Gaborik information to let fans know that he's going to play, or to let other teams know he's ready to be a commodity?
