Houston Aeros sign Brian Kaufman for 2009-2010

Briankaufman_medium

Houston Aeros General Manager Tom Lynn today announced the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed forward Brian Kaufman to an AHL contract for the 2009-2010 season.

Kaufman, 25 (2/25/84), played the past four seasons with Miami University and served as team captain for the 2009 NCAA national runners-up. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound native of Shoreview, Minnesota native finished with 84 points (30-54=84) in 125 games played in his college career. He had his best season as a junior when he skated in 42 games and had career-highs in goals with 12 and assists with 25.

Sure would be nice to put him alongside another big body from Miami Univers ... oh wait. We traded Ryan Jones already. Hmm.

Well, either way, I like Kaufman's game, and I'm happy to see the team pick up a power forward from the college game. In my opinion this is a positive step.
