Thank heavens for Twitter in situations like this.

Martin Havlat is now a member of the Wild but being spurned by the Blackhawks on July 1 has clearly left him with a bit of a grudge. This afternoon on his Twitter account, he offered some somewhat cryptic comments on the fact the Bowmans have taken over after Dale Tallon was forced out of the GM seat in Chicago.

Havlat: the anti-Gaborik

“By telling truth, don’t want people to think I’m bitter. Everyone in Minn has been awesome, they believe in me and I won’t let them down”

“Want to be clear. I loved my time in Chicago but moved on. Very excited about Minny, going to give everything I have to the Wild.”

I wish

That I could be such a bitter owner that my team makes the playoffs for the first time in God only knows how long, after my GM has drafted some of the best young players in the game, and signed a relatively cap-friendly Marion Hossa for 12 years that I would still fire the guy.

If I were Tallon I would have told the guy to shove his “Advisor” postion up his you know what.

If you believe the rumors

John McDonough strong-armed Tallon into making those deals. If you listen to the press conference audio from yesterday that rumor is significantly more believable, as he doesn’t sound very hands off in letting the general manager actually have the authority to be a general manager.
