Minnesota Wild signs Shane Hnidy
Chuck Fletcher continues to shore the blue line by adding stay-at-home defenseman Shane Hnidy to a one-year, $750,000 contract. .
Hnidy will be expected to offer solid positional defense and will pair nicely with a more offensive-minded blue-liner and will likely find playing time on the penalty kill.
I am going to assume this removes the Wild from the Francois Beauchemin sweepstakes.

RT @QuickFacts: Dave Barr & Mike Ramsey named assistant coaches for the Minnesota Wild. Barr was Richards teammate/assistant coach with Orlando Solar Bears

You have to assume they're going to keep Mason as well?
With the run we’ve had on solid goaltending, it’s probably better to not fix what ain’t broke.
Expecting “solid positional defense” might be asking a lot from Shane Hnidy. I am glad to see him leave town.

Have you met the Wild blue line?

Depending on what happens with the RFA defensemen, I don’t know that Hnidy is really helping out a whole lot here. Greg Zanon was the key defense-shoring-up guy. Hnidy is, at best, a 6th or 7th defenseman.
yea, maybe
but he is only being paid like one, better then the money we were paying to bergeron et al.
