Marian Gaborik and his injuries.. not to bring up a sore spot

I was wondering what Wild fans had to say about Marian Gaborik and his time in Minny. Would it be described as positive or negative and what kind of chances do you give him staying healthy during his time in New York?

I ask because there has been a heated discussion over at Blueshirt Banter about whether or not its a good signing because of his injury problems.

Personally, I don't think Gaborik was a good idea.

Ungrateful one!

Has it been good to have Gabby here at Minnesota? It is hard to say that it has been all bad because he is AWESOME when he plays. Is he a two way player? I would say mostly NO! Does he have break out speed that is fun to watch sure. He is a great player but that is what he is. He IS NOT a leader in the locker room. He is not a mentor to young guys. He is what he is. A selfish player that ungratefully turned down a HUGE contract an alienate the fans. That is the fans that stuck with him during MANY seasons of injuries. I cannot see New Yorkers being as nice as we were. Frankly, they shouldn’t be.

Bottom line: He will be injured and I would guess sometime this year. You will love and hate him both. The NY management knew this when they bought his soul. You get what you get!

Gabby

Gabby was more frustrating than anything to watch. He would sit out for games at a time and when he finaly did make it back you had to pray that nobody would hit him and give him another injury. I’m glad he didn’t resign with the wild.
