No idea. Interesting move, though. Could be a trade in the works. A lot of times you see the player go on waivers first. Not sure why, though.

Well… A+ on the Lats trade, right? So averaging a passing grade still.

From Russo:
The Wild placed forwards Petr Sykora and Robbie Earl on waivers today. Both have 24 hours to clear and could be assigned to AHL Houston. The question would be if Sykora would report. If Sykora clears, the Wild could also call Sykora back via re-entry waivers to try to entice another team to take him at half the cap hit. More to come The Wild is now practicing today, by the way, so Brent Burns could be back.
So… maybe someone is interested in him, but only at half the hit. A boy can dream, right?

I wish it was James Sheppard they were waiving his ass is worthless. I actually like Robbie Earl and the Former Badger looked pretty good in a Wild Uniform.

I gave him some grief about dancing around the Sykora question. Most likely he is working his sources to figure out why he was placed on waivers, and if there is indeed interest from other teams, etc.
Noticeably absent from Twitter right now is Allan Walsh.
