Wilderness Walk for 10-12-2010
Today's Walk is a fun one. Intros on Jose Theodore, a look at a Wild prospect, a rather confusing line from a DISH network exec, and Hockey Joe finally gets his way. The Ducks have really given up 170+ shots in THREE GAMES? Yikes.
Check out your Walk, get some mental exercise, and as always... enjoy your day.
Wild News:
Theodore Gets Acclimated - Glen Andresen gives us a look at Jose Theodore.
Post-practice update; DISH Network response to dispute with Fox (updated) | StarTribune.com - Russo and Kent Youngblood team up for a Russo's Rants post. I'm still not sure if DISH Network would accept excessive charges, but draw the line at "overly excessive..."
Theodore getting to know Wild | StarTribune.com - Youngblood's piece on Theodore for the paper.
Questions with Bob Sansevere: Minnesota Wild coach Todd Richards - TwinCities.com - Must have been back-up day at the X, as Sansevere has a Q&A with Todd Richards.
Tickets available for Minnesota Wild's home opener on Thursday - TwinCities.com - Indeed they are still available. I know they have given you very little reason to buy tickets, but now is your best chance to actually get seats. Go. Enjoy the game. It is still the NHL, and it is still your team.
In the System:
BakersfieldCondors.com - News & Releases - The Condors continue to fill out their roster, including re-signing their top scorer.
Jobke goes Wild with hockey career - A profile of Colton Jobke, recent Wild signing.
KiPA's Korner:
Hitting The Post: Anaheim: Early contender for worst in NHL - You think you've got it bad as a Wild fan? Read this. At least the part about Anaheim. Brutally bad.
Off the Trail:
USA Hockey - The first ever USA Hockey Adult Sled Classic Tournament was held in Denver over the weekend. Very cool stuff. If you have never seen sled hockey... you are missing out.
ProHockeyTalk - In the "Last but certainly not least" category... our good friend Hockey Joe finally got his site re-design over at Prop Hockey Talk. It looks good, and the site is one of my go-tos for NHL info. It should be one of yours as well.

Prop Hockey Talk?
Sounds comical… as long as Carrot Top isn’t involved.
As much as Theodore can be an up and down sort of goalie, he’s an awfully good asset to have at the contract he got. He will be a solid back up, and decent competition for Backstrom. He’s also likely to get on at least one really hot streak during the season. Also, and this is a very nice underlying benefit, Theodore will be a very very attractive trade deadline piece for any playoff team that might find themselves in the need of a goalie… especially if the Wild are out of contention or if Backstrom has solidified his game.
Well, Joe is known to use a prop or two in his comedy…
