Wilderness Walk for 10-13-2010
A short Walk today, and you may need it. Russo up to some shenanigans, and he also has a great story on Kurtis Foster that is sure to have you pulling for him, despite the fact he plays for a division rival. If you are at the game tomorrow, I expect you to stand and cheer for him at your first opportunity. Cheer loudly. He deserves it.
As for today, try not to pull anything. Game day tomorrow.
Wild News:
Bouchard moves up to top line; Opening-Night festivities | StarTribune.com - Russo, cruel builder of hope and dreams.
Rehab for a broken leg and a broken heart | StarTribune.com - Russo's piece on Foster. Excellent read, better human being.
KiPA's Korner:
Hitting The Post: Looking back and ahead - A recap of the night's action, and a look forward to today's games.
Yep. That's it. To this day, I don't understand how a newspaper that is based about six blocks from the X doesn't have Wild coverage coming out of its ears, but the Pioneer Press is silent on the Wild. Just one day before the home opener, and they've got nothing? I don't get it, but maybe it's above my pay grade.
Enjoy your day, all.

Foster
Poor guys been dealt a bad hand the last couple of years. I couldn’t even imagine going through what he and his wife are going through. Mad props to them for persevering through it all. I will be standing up and cheering for him in front of my tv tomorrow night.
I miss Foster...
We have Theo who also lost a child recently… Both Foster and Theo have had trying careers: Foster broke his leg, Theo played for MTL and fooled around with Paris Hilton, drawing the ire of everyone…. Of course we don’t care what Theo did… unless he sucks, in which case we’ll have to laugh at him for those things ;)
I hope Foster has the bright career he deserves, I’ll be cheering from my computer chair!

I made a terrible mistake...
I let my eyes stray to the Star Tribs comment sections in those articles/blogs. It makes my head hurt and my anger rise. It’s really rather sad what happened to that blog comments section community when the paper switched formats.
I don’t know that I can stand hearing the continual “Fletcher is a FAIL! Leddy scored a goal! What has Barker done? Go Minnesota!” /rant

You have sinned
To clear these ungodly images from your head, you must bathe in holy water while reading articles from Russo (minus the comments) and Hockey Wilderness. God will forgive you if you do this.
… Seriously though, a lot of those commenters are not well.

A lot of those commenters are the same person.
But still, yes.

I'm glad I'm not alone
I just think the people commenting over at russo’s site rarely have a clue, and are some of the most pessimistic people towards sports that I’ve come across.
Yeah I saw those same things. It’s just 2 morons with 6 different names. I hope.
