Roman Voloshenko????
Roman Voloshenko
Whatever happend to Roman Voloshenko!?!?!?
I know that he went back to Russia, but the last stats I could find on him were from the '08-'09 season. Nothing for this year.
Do the Wild still own his rights? If yes, they should see if he wants to come back to the AHL for another shot at making the NHL club next year. That kid could score goals... in his first year in Houston he had 33 goals (60 points) in 69 games.
WHERE DID HE GO????!!!!????
The opinions posted here are not those of Hockey Wilderness

After the Wild drafted him, Voloshenko played two seasons with the Aeros, one good season, one not so much. In 05-06, he had 60 points, with 33 goals and 27 assists in 69 games. The following season he had just 30 points with 11 goals and 19 assists in 76 games.
In the 07-08 campaign, he decided the NHL was not going to call and returned to Russia in a huff. That season he played 18 games with Moscow Dynamo, earning two whole points. Two. In 08-09, he had 15 games between Moscow and Balashikha, again earning 2 points.
I don’t type all this to repeat what you already pointed out, but to show that he was on a downward trend. Put simply, if you can’t play in the KHL, there is no way you can play in the NHL. He had one good season and burned out, hard.
This season, he has not skated with any professional organized league. That should be reason enough to know that his hockey career is over. I have no idea where he currently is, but the lack of an agreement between the NHL, KHL, and IIHF means that the Wild technically own his rights still, yes.
I have a pretty strong feeling that Voloshenko is done not only with chances at the NHL, but his hockey career in general. This guy is nothing the Wild need to be worried about, and I am willing to bet he is not even on the radar of concerns of theirs.
