Kipper?

I thought they picked up Toskala to take over some of the workload?

by SpaethCo on Mar 7, 2010 1:42 PM CST via mobile reply actions

And that's the way it sounds today

Russo is saying that Toskala will get a start.

Odd… I got here half way through warm-ups but only saw Kipper taking shots.

RT @Russostrib: Last time Calgary and Minnesota met and kiprusoff didn’t start was Nov. 7, 2003 (Jamie McLennan, the ex-Wild, current-Flames goalie coach)

Kill me

Latendresse hauled down on one end with no call, then Iginla fed Giordano who buried it. 2-0. I’m taking a nap now.

Uh-oh

Cal Clutterbuck injured right leg very bad. Took all his might to skate from goalmouth to bench

Desperate team

Wild dont look like desperate team we want to see. Already over. Oh, by the way, Wings win today…

by Cowboy11 on Mar 7, 2010 2:22 PM CST reply actions

Wild overpassing again.

Passing, passing, and they’re not able to score… ahaha long story

by Cowboy11 on Mar 7, 2010 2:25 PM CST up reply actions

What a chance for Havlat and Lats. Ugh I hope its not going to be one of those games

by Goken17 on Mar 7, 2010 2:25 PM CST reply actions

Its unacceptable. Huge hockey market in the USA. Miss the playoffs two years in a row.

by Cowboy11 on Mar 7, 2010 2:28 PM CST up reply actions

Nice to see Cal back on the ice

i cant believe GM give hum this contract. Defensively, he is useless.

by Cowboy11 on Mar 7, 2010 2:35 PM CST up reply actions

He suffers from Johnssonism. He can play solid for big minutes, but the mistakes he makes are huge.

by SpaethCo on Mar 7, 2010 2:56 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

in fact, he is the Dion Phaneuf version of the Wild

by Cowboy11 on Mar 7, 2010 2:36 PM CST reply actions

Pissed off

Wild, we all know, are two sides, bad and good. And this afternoon, we see the team already out of the playoffs… Disappointing to see only one team hit the ice this p.m.

by Cowboy11 on Mar 7, 2010 2:40 PM CST reply actions

at least penalty killing is looking ok.

by ADN on Mar 7, 2010 2:43 PM CST up reply actions

Yes, no.

Zids and Zannon are aweful out there today.

Yes, the team is over-passing and the forwards aren’t backchecking like they should.

That said, the Wild’s offense is moving, it could be one of those games…..

by Jolonco on Mar 7, 2010 2:58 PM CST up reply actions

You know what?

It is frustrating because Toskala can allow 3 goals on 7 shots or block all of them!

by Cowboy11 on Mar 7, 2010 3:03 PM CST reply actions

No penalty to Glencross on Backstrom?

by Cowboy11 on Mar 7, 2010 3:10 PM CST up reply actions

Where the flying F-CK did the NHL get their refs? Call the (not)Blown calls.

Hook on Andrew Brunnette with 16:30 left in the Second.

Hook on Robbie Earl with 14:18 left in the second.

Call ’em out as you see them!

by Jolonco on Mar 7, 2010 3:12 PM CST reply actions

Awful refs today and awful PP

by Cowboy11 on Mar 7, 2010 3:15 PM CST up reply actions

Funny

Funny. The other day, with 21 games remaining, wild predicted to win 18 and lost just 3. Including today’s game, the number of loss is 2. ahah

by Cowboy11 on Mar 7, 2010 3:13 PM CST reply actions

Killing time for 40 mins against a team like wild seem to be easy

by Cowboy11 on Mar 7, 2010 3:16 PM CST up reply actions

doesn't bode well.

RT @Russostrib: Clutterbuck still missing. He tried to come back but it didn’t last. Brodziak missing too

by nathaneide on Mar 7, 2010 3:17 PM CST reply actions

about damn time!

latendresse with his 20th chance finally buries it

by ADN on Mar 7, 2010 3:17 PM CST reply actions

Fuck

Burns plenty of time to get the puck out…

by Cowboy11 on Mar 7, 2010 3:24 PM CST reply actions

Burns and Zid. I have no word to describe their defensive play.

by Cowboy11 on Mar 7, 2010 3:27 PM CST up reply actions

Killing the crowd too

by Cowboy11 on Mar 7, 2010 3:25 PM CST up reply actions

Damn

Iggy finally broke the streak

Zids needs a shorter/longer stick. If he misses any more of those I'm going to scream

(louder than I did the previous 5 times he’s had golden opportunities)

he truly is the master of choke.

Mr Fletcher, if you resign him to a 5 year deal, I will buy season tickets next year.

Hockey player interviews are the best in sports

by Goken17 on Mar 7, 2010 3:40 PM CST reply actions

Well. Basketball is a a bunch cocky players who know they are good and won’t hesitate to let you know it. “I want the ball, because I am the best and will embarrass anyone who tries to stop me” Football players are mostly dumb and you can hardly understand what the hell they’re saying, and even if you can understand them, they don’t make any sense. “I hit him as hard as I could to try to win for my team mates and get the ball to run for scoring.” And baseball players are just boring. “Well this inning we are going to go out there and do our best not to fall asleep on the field”

Plus bonus points for the foreign player’s accents

by Goken17 on Mar 7, 2010 3:51 PM CST up reply actions

Tell me

Ok guys, what are your keys to the game for the 3rd?

by Cowboy11 on Mar 7, 2010 3:53 PM CST reply actions

Shoot the puck. Shoot the puck. Shoot the puck.

If all else fails, give the puck to Lats to shoot the puck

by Jolonco on Mar 7, 2010 3:54 PM CST reply actions

Should've been a call on Nolan at 12:25.

More referee idiocy. Not that I’ll complain about that one.

by Jolonco on Mar 7, 2010 4:08 PM CST reply actions

Havlat and Barker, awful game

by Cowboy11 on Mar 7, 2010 4:11 PM CST up reply actions

Very disappointed. Latendresse and Backstrom, only two players show up today

by Cowboy11 on Mar 7, 2010 4:12 PM CST up reply actions

ahaha

Boo Boo Iginla, waiting the puck at the Wild blue line. Overrated player.

by Cowboy11 on Mar 7, 2010 4:14 PM CST reply actions

Ref Ref Ref

glencross hit backstrom earlier in the game, no call ahah …

by Cowboy11 on Mar 7, 2010 4:16 PM CST reply actions

AAARRGGGHHHHHHHH

WHat the FUCK!!!, had the puck, driving to the net, makes contact with the goalie trying to get outta the way.

Complete BULLLSHIT BLOWN CALL!

by Cowboy11 on Mar 7, 2010 4:19 PM CST reply actions

by ADN on Mar 7, 2010 4:19 PM CST reply actions

playoff hope gone too. wings and flames win today. and ducks playing tonight

by Cowboy11 on Mar 7, 2010 4:20 PM CST reply actions

Cowboy11.

You need to stop with the Debbie Downer stuff man, you’re bringing me down.

by Jolonco on Mar 7, 2010 4:24 PM CST reply actions

i will if Havlat play hockey with two hands on his stick ;) Never happen :)

by Cowboy11 on Mar 7, 2010 4:27 PM CST reply actions

I don’t know why, but Greenlay reminds me of Seth Rogen. Maybe its the goofy faces he makes

by Goken17 on Mar 7, 2010 4:35 PM CST reply actions

Poor Defense and Piss-poor Refereeing were what did us in.

#1. If I went through the game again, pulling the calls on either side that were just plain old not called, I’m sure I could come up with at least 10. I’ve documented a couple of them above, but I just cannot get over how horrid the officiating has been this year. Did they retire a bunch of veteran referees this past year? Are the Wild getting the shit referees assigned to them?

#2. Barker didn’t look sharp. Neither did Schultz. Shane the Sheriff wasn’t great. Zannon was slow, wonder if he’s nursing an injury. Zidlicky was honest to goodness horseshit garbage. What a waste of bench space. They could’ve called up a Rookie for his spot tonight. Constantly misplaying the puck, errant passes, just looked like he was at 3/4 speed against the Flames.

If you are Richards, how do you get your guys to respond to this letdown. 5-2? Really? I would pull the Herb Brooks and have Zannon and Zids out there skating laps after the game. Maybe joined by a few others too.

On to the Positive Side:

Nolan still looks like he’s closer to 30 than 40. Glad to see that.
Shepard wins a few more faceoffs than he loses, so that’s good.
Latendresse is freaking sweet. Slight mancrush developing (if only for his awesomeness).
Havlat looked okay, if a bit offbeat. He seemed sluggish at some times, and like he was trying too hard others. Gotta wonder if he was feeling a bit frustrated.
Nik Backstrom will be the only reason this team has a chance to see the playoffs. He made some incredible saves today that were simply amazing. This game would’ve been 10-2 if it weren’t for him.
