Wilderness Walk for 4-28-2010 A Dark Day Indeed

Psst... hey man... have you seen my pride? (Photo by Rich Lam/Getty Images)

Well,Wilderness readers, I think almost universally we were pulling for the Coyotoes. They lost to the much hated Red Wings, and thus we have a dark day on our hands. Our only option in the next round is to pull for the Sharks? I don't know if I can do that. I mean, the people at Fear the Fin are good folks and all, but wanting Dany Heatly to move on is almost as bad as wanting the Wings to move on.

Sigh. We'll sort it out.

I was rooting hard for the 'Yotes (as was much of the rest of the hockey world)

However, at least I picked the winged wheel in the bracket challenge. On the other hand, the rest of my picks are shit.

Ugh, it is going to be one of those days…

Few people like Detroit except for Detroit.
&just because a person cheers for San Jose doesn’t mean they have to cheer for Heatley [if I’m making any sense]
I cheer for Saku &Teemu but I sure as hell do not cheer for the Ducks.
Plus, San Jose fans have a deep love & respect for Owen Nolan,
&anyone who has that, is definitely okay in my book.

Hee hee… I agree. San Jose fans are awesome. Very loyal, very passionate. They also face off against the Wings, so they are my new favorite team for the next few days. With due deference to the hockey gods, I hope Heatly breaks himself some how in game 1.

An even better team to cheer for than San Jose? The Blackhawks. These next few days, I’m going to be one of the hugest, temporary Hawks fans ever. :P

A Habs fan, eh? You may want to avoid JS (bubblewild48). ;-)

Welcome to the Wilderness.

Welcome pandas!

Better not be talking about the Habs here though, or I may have to throw a fit! ;)
But hey, if you’re a Wild fan, then it pretty much cancels out the Habness, so you’re alright by me! Hope you have fun here, there’s gonna be plenty of Wild goodness!

Hehe. Thanks for the kind welcome.
Though I like the Habs, I’m a Wild fan first &foremost.
Wild is a lifestyle. Habs are a hobby. :P [That was horribly cheesy; please excuse that. XD ]

So as a college hockey fan and a NHL fan are we bad people if we like Heatly’s game but maybe not the player off the ice.

No. You can like anyone you like. Well… except for Bertuzzi.

Anyone who attempts to slash Kaptain’s leg off is definitely not okay in my book. :D

I am hoping for a Detroit Demise soon, I am bored with the Redwing style of play. I do think the Sharks are going to move on…

Sigh

Both teams I picked to meet in the SCF got eliminated in the 1st round. I am not smarter than a 5th grader! From the video of the day, my favorite part was at about the 1:15 mark when a Flyer was coasting in front of the net and got knocked into next week by Burns!

Some MTL fans can be such doofuses... or is it doofi?... Anyway, they boo the anthem despite having 4 americans on the roster, most of which are important to the team...

On a completely unrelated subject (or almost), I signed up to a hockey ball league and I’m going to be goalie for two teams, because of a goalie shortage. The creator of the league made the teams, so you just sign up and he assigns you to a team… HE ASSIGNED ME TO THE CANADIENS AND THE PENGUINS! DOUBLE EWWWWWW :P…. It’s still going to be hella fun!

Dear JS,

I’m sure you’re upset the Habs went on, but you gotta admit.. it was kinda worth it to watch Ovie blubber in the locker room. :]

by shleske on Apr 29, 2010 6:53 AM CDT reply actions

NOPE, I cannot admit to that, he blubbered enough after the loss to canada

Didn’t WANT to see him lose against the habs, no way, no how!
