Wilderness Walk for 4-6-2010
Hello all. How is this fine Tuesday morning treating all of you? A little rain, a loss to the second worst team in hockey, more than a handful of Wild regulars now out of the lineup. What could be better? Sigh.
Gamers & More:
Wild rookies getting an extended look down the stretch | StarTribune.com - I love the rookies not only getting to play, but showing that they can actually play.
Russo's Rants | StarTribune.com - Post game Rants.
Injuries open the door for Nate Prosser of Elk River to make NHL debut with Wild - TwinCities.com - View from across the river. And, you know, through the looking glass.
Minnesota Wild lose Guillaume Latendresse, Martin Havlat as skid grows to four - TwinCities.com - More from the Pioneer Press.
Wild Posts:
Sometimes, the Wild turn up in odd places. Enjoy these, as they are very good pieces.
Mikko Koivu - Under-appreciated But Amazing - The Copper & Blue - Great post on Kaptain Koivu from Derek. Apologies to him for not getting info to him before the post went up. My bad.
The Current State of Wild Goaltending - I don't agree with all of the opinions in this, but it is coming from a fantasy hockey stand point, so it is a little different perspective.
KiPA's Korner:
Hitting The Post: Monday's NHL blahblahblah - There were some games.
Off the Trail:
FTR Roundtable: NHL Awards Picks - From The Rink - The "bosses" here at SBN Hockey take a look at the awards for the NHL. Jimmy Howard for the Hart? Really?
Tune in early next week as we begin to breakdown the season with some team coverage. It has not all been worked out to the last detail, but the good stuff never is. Just know that the Wilderness is fully stocked for the offseason run.

Howard
I’m completely blown away by the Howard nomination for anything other than maybe the Calder. It makes no sense to me. Bryzgalov, Sedin, Ovi, Crosby, Miller are all better choices, and that’s without thinking.
Proprietor of Hockey Wilderness - We take Minnesota hockey WAY too seriously.
In fairness, Derek likely has a good reason for it. He is a stat guy, so maybe that’s his basis. However… Howard gets the nod for the Hart, but not for the Vezina? So, he is the best player in the NHL, but not the best goalie?
Rule #17: You may not impersonate representatives of Hockey Wilderness and handout NHL themed wrist bands.
I'm pretty sure it's not Howard that made them rise so quickly
It’s the players getting healthy. If Howard wins the Hart, then give the Selke to Benoit Pouliot
Always nice...
to see Mikko appreciated by anyone who isn’t already a Wild fan.
