2010-11 Wild Schedule Released

Russo has the Wild's schedule for next season, so we bring it to you as well, for your further consideration and comment. The season, of course, opens in Finland on October 7 & 8. The first true home game is October 14th against Edmonton. Six of eight games in October not played overseas will be home games, so a big change from last season, and as Russo points out, even the March schedule doesn't look awful.

The full schedule can be found after the jump, or over at Russo's blog. What games most intrigue you? What looks bad, what looks good?

Last home game of the year is against Dallas... setting up another storybook ending should Mike Modano choose to play another season, not re-sign with the Stars, and wants to come home to finish up his second farewell tour. (Honestly, the rumor is out there...)

Habs on March 20th and Leafs on March 22nd!

While Lin (Pandas) and I are probably the only ones who care, I cannot wait for those two games! I hope the Wild beat both of them AGAIN :)

Yes! I was definitely excited to see that there was a Habs game at the X this season! Although, I think we have different reasons for wanting a Habs game at the X. :P

Games against the Wings, the Oilers on my birthday (March 31st), last game of the year against Dallas (if Modano comes back for another year), Vancouver (as long as Luongo gets lit up like a Christmas tree), and the Ducks (because I love every single second of a win against them lol).

anyone know when the broadcast schedule is usually announced?

by thaxman on Jun 22, 2010 3:38 PM CDT reply actions

Much, much later

Usually September-ish. They can fly the teams around easily enough, but the FOX SportsNet / Comcast SportsNet / etc regional sports networks need to arrange the more complicated schedule of getting the production trucks from venue to venue to cover all the events their respective networks cover. (namely NHL / NBA)

Should be about 2nd-3rd week in August

I alway have the television schedule before my season ticket draft, which is usually the week before labor day.

I wonder if it will be weird wearing my Ovechkin jersey and cheering for the Wild on 10/28. Also looking forward to giving Gaborik crap on 11/20…make that double crap because he didn’t show up for the game last year!

November 2nd game sounds like a perfect birthday present for myself.

So, think Gaby’s gonna play sick again this year? :P

Is there any doubt?

GM time.

Trade Brunette, Harding, Sheps and 2nd round pick for Jeff Carter.

Trade Burns and 9th pick for Bobby Ryan and the 29th pick.

I like what you are thinking, but I don’t think Anaheim gives up Ryan for that deal. Maybe for Burns and the ninth, but not and get thier first back, too.

As for the first part, I think Shep is a deal killer. Seriously. Bruno, Harding, and a pick would maybe get Carter. Shep kills it.

Haha Shep probably does make it worse. I think that is a pretty even trade though.

Bobby Ryan makes so much sense and with Neids retiring they need some defense to build around. The Ducks already have the 12th pick and would love to add another high pick. I would still be willing to deal the 9th pick and Burns for Ryan. I feel like he would be a perfect winger for Koivu.

by Kenny H on Jun 22, 2010 11:04 PM CDT up reply actions

And there are a lot of great defensemen in the top of the draft too. If the Ducks had the 9th overall, they would easily get a great D-man.

Hockey = greatest sport ever! (Rugby a close second)

I'd like that if it happened...

but Shep is a total deal breaker. I’d prefer Barker traded instead of Burns since Burns’ trade value is lower than it should be right now, but I’d be perfectly fine with Carter and Ryan on the Wild if it somehow happened, even if it meant moving Burns.

by Call of the Wild on Jun 22, 2010 10:57 PM CDT reply actions

Both of those trades make so much sense. And we would have the cap space to sign Carter, Ryan and Koviu. Dream situation though.

by Kenny H on Jun 22, 2010 11:09 PM CDT up reply actions

Yeah I know that, and it obviously wouldn’t make sense either since we just traded for him. Just meant that I like Burns more than Barker is all lol.

by Call of the Wild on Jun 23, 2010 12:03 PM CDT up reply actions

So do I of course!

I would be very sad if we traded Burns, but if it’s necessary, so be it!

Oh, sure. Rub it in. Twice, even. Sigh. I don’t really hate you. I am ultimately jealous, though.
