Draft Day 2 Open Thread
Welcome to day two, brought to you in part by... wait a minute, I have here somewhere... uh... Ah, who really cares?
Day 2 does not have the pomp and circumstance of day one, but the future of a team can certainly be made on day two. There are no fancy "Come get your new sweater you punk kid. Oh, and you best not be the next AJ Thelen, or I swear to the Hockey Gods..." kind of thing today. Draft teams sitting at their tables and calling in picks if I remember correctly. I could be wrong about that, but I don't think I am.
The Wild currently own six picks in today's, um, action.
All day 2 action found after the jump.

Bulmer is a grinder. Hmm

Not so sure
At 18 years old, this past season was just Bulmer’s first with the WHL’s Kelowna Rockets. In 65 games, he scored thirteen goals (7ES, 6PP) and added twenty-seven assists for forty points, 95 PIMS, and a minus-7 rating on a Rockets squad that finished in sixth place in the WHL’s Western Conference with a record of 35-31-6 and 76 points

Here’s a scouting report I found on Bulmer

FYI, I will do my best to update the story up above as they pick.

Please tell me this isn’t the Brett Bulmer that we just drafted: http://www.facebook.com/bulmer69
The FB chump is from Thunder Bay.
Drafted Brett is from Prince George. Whew!!!!!
I figured his agent would have told him to take down that picture if it was him LONG before the draft happened.
Bulmer has a fight card...

Apropos
Need more Norwegians, though :)
Let's Go Twins!
Minnesota Wild Off-season: In Fletch We Trust.
HockeyDB has nothing on Larsson. 3 different players with profiles, 1 d-man, one goalie. one older kid

I’m still here. Covering the draft for SBN MN and Pro Hockey News, too. Trying to get everything caught up while there is a lull.

Very possible. Just need to get them all to work together, get them a solid coach, resolve some of the off-ice issues… could be a good team soon.

You know what I love? When people know I’m busy doing something, and yet insist on calling me every three seconds to discuss shit I don’t want to talk about. I love that. No. Really.

Huh
Johan Gustafsson, a goalie, from Farjestad Jr., Sweden
Proprietor of Hockey Wilderness - We take Minnesota hockey WAY too seriously.
I like
A wild card among goalies is Swede Johan Gustafsson. He’s a gangly youngster who hasn’t played advanced pro hockey in Sweden just yet, but his athleticism has caught the eyes of some scouts. It’s not certain that he’ll be picked before the third round, but he could be another prospect to watch.

from wild.com
Gustafsson ranked number five among all European goaltenders available in the Draft. In 26 games with Farjestad, Gustafsson posted a 2.86 goals against average, and a .894 save percentage.
Gustafsson is familiar with Minnesota, having visited twice. He attended Robb Stauber’s goalie camp, Goalcrease.
Dylen McKinlay is the final pick of the day
