All Quiet on the Western Front

With Russo reporting that the Wild are likely done with free agency, at least for now, and with the 4th of July holiday coming up, Hockey Wilderness may be a little quiet for a few days. JS is moving, I will be camping, and Nathan has a little girl to take care of Twins games to attend.
If anything major breaks, count on someone jumping on to give you a place to talk about it.Feel free to continue reading and exploring all of the posts for the last couple of days. Tons of information thrown at you, soak it in, have a beer, and get some sun.

In other words: When someone pisses you off, at least show them the respect of telling them why you are about to open a can of whoop ass on them.

I guess it’s not like Ebbett is going to drop the gloves and right Robo so I guess they are going to have to co-existed. :)
Yeah, likely they aren’t going out partying any time soon, but they can share the ice. Hell, JovoCop probably doesn’t think he did anything wrong, so in his delusion, he’ll be just fine.

Mike Modano
It would be insane if we signed Mike Modano
he could play 3rd line center and would be fun to watch

Sounds like the front office has already ruled that out. Modano is too slow, too old, a defensive liability, and probably won’t produce enough on our 3rd line to warrant his veteran status contract. Good dream, but he’ll look for a contender
They couldn’t be more wrong. In no way is he a defensive liability and he can still produce. He would be a great addition if we could move somebody, Miettinen?

Yes, but what will he cost to be a third line center? I’m pretty sure he doesn’t even want to come back to Minny, he wants to stay in the Southern markets (San Jose, Phoenix, etc..)

Modano moves too slowly to be an effective defensive center. Actually take a look at the line you have him on. Neither of those two players are the right combination for a guy that was Mike Modano. Nystrom and Kobasew both fill a role as checking wings. That’s not the style of play for #9. Neither guy can come back to cover the backcheck for an aging Modano. Once again, it’s a nice dream, but he’s not a fix for the team. Time to accept the fact that Mike Modano is ready to be put out to pasture.
