Wild All Time Worst Team
Nick has some fun with the upcoming Ten Year celebration. Head over and help him name the all-time worst players in Wild history. You get 1 Goalie, 2 D-men, and 3 Forwards. Make sure you comment over there so he can complete the final roster.
By the way, if Skoula doesn't make every one of your lists, we may need to talk about your level of commit.

Goalie: Dubielewicz, even if we didn’t see much of him
Defense:
Skoula…because my level of commit is high! Nah, this is pretty obvious, he was a horrible defenseman who was brought in to help out on the powerplay, which he didn’t, at all.
Sean Hill. Never really liked him, at all, horrible -16 in 35 games with the Wild.
Forwards:
James Sheppard, another no-brainer, but then again, is it fair to judge this based on one bad year?… Yeahhh Fuck James Sheppard.
Benoit Pouliot, utter disappointment as a Wild… now the Habs are about to get disappointed as well… good :)
Chris Simon… ugh… yuck….
Dishonorable mentions: Craig Weller (F), Andrei Zyuzin (D), Jamie McLennan (G)
McLennan is the only one I’ve never seen play, but judging by his stats with the Wild, he apparently didn’t do too good… to be fair, the team was rather horrible at the time though..

There should be a minimum GP, though. I’d say 41, half a season?
Skoula and Veilleux should be locks. Veilleux has the lowest net +/- of any Wild skater ever.

Agreed about minimum GP..
But I’ve got a hard time putting Veilleux in a list like this because he was one of the only players who gave his all night in and night out and he was able to produce a little bit too…

Ever notice that that’s what people always say about players who suck?

So I guess you think Koivu sucks?

Yeah but you can say things like “he’s really good” or “statistically one of the better players we’ve had in a long time” or “deserves the captaincy” about Koivu, too.

Well regardless, hard workers still beat loafers like Benoit Pouliot, James Sheppard and the like

I agree, Veilleux wasn’t the best, but gave what he had, and even took a few punches to the face when it was called for. I’d definitely rather have him than Pouliot or Shep, they gave nothing.

I like the addition of Chris Simon. He is clearly the worst trade in team history.

Yeah, after watching Justin DiBenedetto light it up for the Islanders, I have to agree.

My team
For some reason either my comment is being moderated or was eaten by the internets.
Wade Dubielewicz (so bad he was pulled in warmups)
Martin Skoula (no more need be said) – Brad Brown (a black hole of suck)
Pavol Demitra – James Sheppard – Benoit Pouliot (the all-disappointment line)
Proprietor of Hockey Wilderness - We take Minnesota hockey WAY too seriously.
Oh, I like the choice of Dubie. Well done. I had the same forward line, so that’s a mortal lock. Skoula wins hands down. Brad Brown did have that really cool picture of him squaring off with Bertuzzi, but that the peak of his career.

Goalie:
Wade Dubielewicz, although I never liked the pouting of Fernandez. On a side note, I’m still bitter that the Wild traded Roloson and kept Manny.
D-Men:
John Scott – Still can’t figure out how a guy that big can get pushed around so badly.
Martin Skoula – We gave up Willie Mitchell for this guy?
Forwards:
James Sheppard – duh
Branco Radivojevic – They don’t get any more irrelevant
Dominic Moore – Never understood the hype around the kid, but he sucks
Honorable Mention:
G – Jamie McLennan
D – Alex Henry, Jason Marshall
F – Benoit Pouliot, Chris Simon, Todd Fedoruk
I didn't care too much for Radivojevic either...

Isn't it kind of sad that there are so many variations to this list for a 10 year old team?

What's even worse...
There are a lot of guys that only really racked up penalty minutes for the Wild. You could build a team of only enforcers with the old rosters. Blah
