The Return of The Walk
I see we have some new visitors here on Hockey Wilderness since out last nature walk. For the uninitiated, "The Walk" is our daily link post, bringing you the news from around the Wild organization from sources around the world. It could be anything from a quick bit on an injury, to a long, detailed Q&A. You just never know. IN the business it's called "aggregation." Here at Hockey Wilderness, we simply call it: "The Walk."
These stories come from a thorough scouring of every website on the entire interwebz, and we miss absolutely nothing, ever. In case you really are new here, that was sarcasm. You're going to want to get used to that.
We'll put the first walk after the jump. Take the first steps. Hockey season starts, today.
Daily Random Wild Picture:

It's a pink Wild watch. It's great, right?
Wild News:
Wild's Matt Cullen ... welcome home | StarTribune.com - The first piece from Russo to kick off the season, and it doesn't disappoint.
Michael Russo's Q&A Wild owner Craig Leipold | StarTribune.com - This is actually a couple days old, making it ancient online, but it's what you get to start the year, OK?
NHL 2010-11 Season Preview: Wrestling with Minnesota Wild - Puck Daddy - NHL - Yahoo! Sports - Puck Daddy's Season preview for the Wild. Hey... at least he didn't write that this is Mikko Koivu's first season as captain of the team.
'There are not too many gimmes' - TwinCities.com - A Q&A with coach Todd Richards.
Wild expect to be a different kind of tough without Derek Boogaard and other heavyweights - TwinCities.com - Good to see the story make the Pioneer Press. Since everyone else was talking about it in July.
News from Around the System:
Happy Granlund - A look at Mikael Granlund. And yes, Monica already posted it. You got it twice. Read it again, it's good for you.
TheAHL.com | The American Hockey League | Tordjman ready to cross rivalry line - Tordjman is one of the goalies vying for a spot in Houston.
Former Florida Everblades defense and Minnesota Wild first round draft pick A.J. Thelen signs with Kalamazoo Wings - Blades' Blog - Now, if only we could get people to drop the link to Minnesota, we'd be just fine.
Mikael Granlund takes centre stage - Puck Worlds - SBN blog Puck Worlds looks at a very good night for one Wild prospect.
And there you have it folks... your first walk of the season. Nothing to over exert yourself on, since it's training camp for you as well. You all look like you didn't do much walking this summer. Maybe in the coming days, I'll push your heart rate a bit. Yeah... unlikely.

Pink?
Ugh!
Pink? Really? A pink watch?
If it is being marketing towards little girls I am semi-kind-of-I-guess okay with it OR if proceeds go to breast cancer research. shakes head pink…. Even WIKI doesn’t have pink listed as an official color for the NHL – maybe it should the amount they want to use it.
Also you can NEVER read too much Risto Pakarinen! Great writer, knows what he is talking about and is just a nice/great/awesome person.
Pink. Yep, pink.

they could market Hello Kitty
as Nordy’s girlfriend.
I’m assuming he’s a straight male.
Ugh, pink watch. The only things it would be useful for would be throwing it at puckbunnies or throwing it at Bettman. Oh wait… it doesn’t have a Pens logo or Crosby’s name/pic anywhere on it, scratch that lol. It would only be useful for throwing at puckbunnies haha. Anyone want to go 50-50 on one? (kidding lol)

Rules for wearing pink team/sports apparel
Pink team/sports apparel is only acceptable:
1. If the wearer is female and under age 12
2. If the wearer is female and over age 65
3. If the proceeds from the item go to breast cancer research and it is worn on the day designated by the team/league for raising awareness of breast cancer.
Anything outside of those rules, you just look like a puck bunny.
Don’t even get me started on team/sports apparel with rhinestones….

Hideous!
Seriously – those are ridiculous. If you’re a fan – wear something that represents the team, in the team colors. My husband would take one look a woman wearing one of those rhinesone jerseys and give me a “She’s dirrrty.” Snap judgement ? You bet!

ECSTATIC for the walk. Who needs to search the internet when Bryan does it for you?!
And who needs me when Google does it for me? ;-) Actually, I do find a fair number of these on my own, but Google is very good at delivering exactly what I need, when I need it.
