Wilderness Walk for 11-10-2011: Game Day Edition
I know there is an exciting game tonight, and we'll get to that. First, your daily moment of Movember.
Did you know that Movember does not only focus on prostate and testicular cancer research? Movember also hopes to raise awareness of other men's health issues. One of the big issues with men's health? Depression. Did you know that men are four times more likely to commit suicide than women? Four times. That's significant enough to call that a men's health issue.
So, support the Movember campaign with donations, join our team, donate to our team. If you are suffering from depression, don't think you need to do so on your own. It is a medical condition that can be treated. Please, see a doctor. More importantly, see a qualified doctor.
Links and news, after the jump.

Rocket's Red Glare: Fictional game between the Wild and North Stars | StarTribune.com - Gamer for a completely fiction game. Fun read. Unless, of course you think it will give the North Stars motivation.
Enemy News
Sharks' Burns eager to face former club - NHL.com - NHL Insider - I wonder what the other guys involved in this game think. Burns is eager, but Heatley doesn't really care, right?
Brent Burns might not be the No. 1 fan of the Minnesota Wild | Working the Corners - We've discussed this. I'm over it.

Sadly I will
only get to watch the first period tonight.. I’m moving into my own place tomorrow so I need all the rest I can get.
Follow me on twitter: @tara_novotny
You may want to
have an easier to find link for the Movember donations. I may just be blind but I spent some time using the search function to find a Wilderness Walk that had a link. I will await someone’s “You are blind!” response. ;)
You are blind :)

Yeah, it's definitely duck, duck, goose...
to everyone in the world not from the southern half of MN.
I learned (central minnesota)
Gray duck though I’ve heard it both ways.
Another question, is it “Soda” or “Pop”?
Pop

In MN, it’s pop. I say soda because I have a large contingent of friends from outside MN.

Oddly enough
I’ve was pop until basic training, but came back saying Soda and have been since.
Funny
That’s what happened with a buddy of mine when he went to San Antonio for Guards. He now only says soda.
Definitely pop
If you travel to Wisconsin, when the waiter/waitress asks what soda you want, don’t stare blankly for 30 seconds and then ask, “Oh, you mean pop”. He/she will stare back at you blankly for 30 seconds…

In Texas, it’s all Coke. Sprite Coke, Pepsi Coke…

Grey Duck is the way I learned it. Geese aren’t even American for crying out loud

Philly/Tampa snoozefest
Maybe after seeing that snoozefest last night, people will finally realize that the Wild are not a boring/trap team. Yeah I didn’t think so either.

I didn't realize they could whistle the puck dead for passing it around and not making any attempt to score.
You’d think this would have come up on the Wild power play.
