Wilderness Walk for 11-23-2011: Game Day Edition
Whew. Hockey is back today. Finally. Also, The real Thanksgiving is tomorrow. Silly Canadians with Thanksgiving in October...
What are you thankful for? Start thinking about everything you would list out if you made a list. How many of those things would you lose if you had a heart attack? What about if you failed to get some other medical condition, such as testicular cancer, treated and that took you away from those that are thankful for your presence in their lives?
One way to avoid all of this? Get a check up once a year. It's so simple it's ridiculous, but it is a life saving appointment. Countless stories of men (and women) going to a doctor's appointment and the doc finding something that is easily treatable if found early enough.
Please. Make an appointment. Get checked out. Donate to the HW team if you have the means. You can also stop by and check out an updated pic of the Reynolds mo. Enjoy.
Before we get too far... Rob Sasser... where are you? Step forward and be recognized. Rob has raised $300 for Movember thus far on the HW team. Thank you so much Rob!

In that Brodziak trade
So Brodziak and Darcy Kuemper for Picks that turned into Kyle Bigos and Oliver Roy…
Sounds good to me
Can’t believe we got Kuemper in the 6th round

Team & Coach
“If you’re going to talk the talk, you better be ready to back it up. That’s what Kyle did,” coach Mike Yeo said. "We spent a lot of time together at the early part of the year trying to get him to understand our game and his role within our game and, to me, he just looks like he’s got it figured out.
This is what we were missing with Richards.

I am thankful for the day off
And that the day off will allow the rare mid week assault in my personal vendetta against my liver…
No kidding.

Not only that
But two years ago, the Wild’s prospect pool was ranked 30th in the league….

I love reading enemy links...
No matter what team it is, either Detroit (Best hockey organization in NHL past 20 yrs) or Nashville(Best hockey organization in TN… I think?) they rip the Wild, relentlessly, no offense, “Unsustainable goal tending”, no name defense, on and on! That is why honestly I appreciate HW so much, you guys actually analyze the two teams and talk about how teams are playing, not just say, " Other team sucks, even if they beat us."
If you are from Kansas, do NOT pretend to know anything about hockey! Just go back to watching cars make left turns while going really fast!

Well Unless its Vancouver right?
Luongo sucks…
I'm thankful for...
…the fact that hockey is a sport that my hubby and I can enjoy together. I tried to become a fan of football, baseball and basketball, but just wasn’t interested. One Wild game viewed from row six and I was hooked. Now we have MANY date nights at the X each season and he knows exactly where to take me for Valentine’s Day and my birthday!

This. So thankful for Fletcher and our prospects

For sure. I’ve just recently stumbled into HW in the past 8 or 9 months, and this soooo much. I’m not sure what I’d do without you guys now, ya know, for real actual hockey news. Heck, I doubt many people know the Wild (outside of Wild fans) are 1st in the league since it happened the same week(end) Sid the Kid came back.
Coach Yeo is another. I was very fortunate to have the chance to meet him (very briefly) this summer. What a guy, I don’t have enough words to express what that felt like. He showed me a great deal of respect and gave me as much time as he could. When he spoke, you could feel the power about anything he was talking about. I admit I did not expect this kind of start from him, but I can see why he has had such a successful career. This guy is a true leader, a winner and an all around good guy. I wish him nothing but the best.
And last but not least, the Minnesota Wild of course!!! Congrats on earning first in the league, one quarter of the season in. By no means has this come easy for the Wild. Many teams around the league see us as a push over (an easy victory if you will), well good luck to them earning 2 points against us, they will need it. Yeo says it a lot, we will make it very difficult for other teams to play us. We are playing like a team and it shows.
