Wild need Lundin, Zanon, Veterans.
What is going on with scratching Lundin and Zanon? Lundin plays great defense, and does great at home games too.
Zanon has been a veteran and great defenseman for this team as well. Also can we please have more details on Setoguchi's injuries and how long he will be out?? And on a final note, let's get Brett Bulmer bback into the lineup.
Top two lines should look more like this.
LW Bouchard C Cullen RW Heatley LD Zanon RD Lundin
LW Clutterbuck C Brodziak RW N. Johnson LD Scandella RD Zidlicky

Bulmer was returned to Juniors
He can’t be touched until his WHL season is over.
You may be the only person in the world who thinks that Zanon and Lundin are top-pair defensmen. No way is Zanon a better defensman than Nick Schultz. Not in this reality.
If you read Russo, then you would know two things about Zanon.
1) He’s struggled lately. He’s made poor turnovers and doesn’t start breakouts at all.
2) He’s the defenseman that’s most likely to be traded. The Wild can’t keep 8 healthy defensmen on the squad, and there’s no convenient way to send anyone back to Houston. Zanon is on his way out.
Lundin will probably get back into the lineup over Stoner. Clayton did not have a good game last night, and he suffered a lower-body injury. Expect Lundin to be in on Monday.
As for Bulmer, TG22 already said it. Bulmer played his 9 games and then was sent back to Canadian Juniors. He can’t be recalled this season.
With regards to Setoguchi, he’s still on the IR, he’s not skating, and there’s no timetable for his return. Same as last week. Until Setoguchi starts skating on his own, they can’t make any type of prediction on when he’ll be back in the lineup.

This
Honestly, with Zanon, if they can’t find a trade partner it may be getting time to waive him and see if someone claims him either on the way down or way back up at half price. I love the guy, but he is definatly on the way out.
Harding and Zanon
for Ryan Malone and draft pick. TB desperately needs defense and goalie help. We need a top six power forward.
That might be too little for a power forward like Ryan Malone. Harding, Lundin, and a 3rd in exchange for Malone and a 4th might work.
Zanon just seems too old to help out the Lightning. He’s not very versatile, and the Lightning need versatility. Zuperman would be better suited moving to a team that only needs a shot-blocking, 3rd pair defenseman.
Lundin moves the puck better and skates better, which I think would help Tampa out a little bit more. Plus, he’s already familiar with Guy Boucher’s system, so there’s no adjustment period.

Lundin is an interesting proposition, I wouldn’t mind it, even though I think Lundin has been playing well. I kind of ruled him out cause they let him walk, and Stevie Y didn’t seem interested in him. But I think they might be kicking themselves for that one. Their D-fense is totally useless behind Brewer and Hedman, and even they have not been playing all that well. I think that would be a decent trade for both sides.
I agree
I think both sides would feel decent. The only scary thing is that Malone is 32 and has a $4.5 million cap hit and is on contract for another 3 years after this season.
On the plus side, it’s a cap-circumvention contract, so he’ll probably retire before it ends.

I know
the contract did make me a little nervous. He is overpaid. Good player, but a pretty hard cap hit. But I think it is do-able. I would think that the contract would be the only real problem. Would probably mean that we will have to seriously start shopping PMB next season, which I would hate to see cause I love #96 (and he’s the jersey that I have), but I would understand cause we have plenty of young replacements coming up. I like how we are having this conversation at two different blogs. :)
On another note, TBS is just finishing the festivus episode. Classic.
Touching, but ...
That shouldn’t be the only criteria. Mark Parrish, anyone? We’re still paying for his bought-out contract. I agree with the other posters. Zanon is the d-man who will most likely be traded (if a trade does happen). Makes no sense to have 8 healthy D. Love the guy, but too one-dimensional. Now that Spurgeon is out, I thought he would get a few games in. But then read that Prosser has been called up. So, hmmmm….

Wild D last night, too many mistakes...
ok after watching lundin last night i was dissapointed in his performance, and the wild D in general, I felt like their first line was good, second seemed to do alright but seemed like PMB and Cullen were doing it by themselves, we had some horrendous turnovers in our zone too. The D needs a boost, i think they need to give Zanon another chance.
