Good to see Josh Caron back on the ice, Dracy Kuemper continues to shine in the WHL, and the European leagues look to have been off for the past week. Who said hockey players get time off? I mean, seriously folks. Play hockey. The sooner the season is done, the sooner these European guys can come on over here and get some North America time.

D Bjorn Krupp	Belleville (OHL)	45	1	10	11	-27	42	Recorded a -3 rating in two games this past week. Ranks 4th among Belleville blueliners in assists and points.
RW Dylen McKinlay	Chilliwack (WHL)	38	4	13	17	-8	42	Assisted on the GWG in a 5-4 victory (2/11). He missed 16 games with a knee injury (10/16-11/26).

He ranks 1st in WCHA play in goals. Named WCHA Freshman of the Week 12/7 and 12/14. Claimed a bronze medal at the World Junior Championship, potting one goal in four games.

Darcy Kuemper	Red Deer (WHL)	49	2892	1.87	36-10-3	90	0.933	Went 2-1-0 this week. In his two wins he stopped 63 of 64 shots and notched his 11th shutout of the year (2/12). He currently ranks 1st in the WHL in wins, GAA, SV% and shutouts. Named CHL Goalie of the Week for the period of 10/4-10/10, 11/29-12/5, and 1/10-1/16. Named WHL Player of the Week for the period of 1/10-1/16 and WHL Goalie of the Month for January.

Wow. Looks like the kid keeps playing on his head. Here’s hoping he keeps it up and can translate that to the AHL next year.

Wonder how that’s going to work next year? Hackett, Khudobin, and maybe Kuemper all in the AHL…….? Can we keep them all :)

Borat won’t be back next year, sadly. He just can’t afford to be an AHL goalie. He is a starter in Russia, with all the $$$ that come with it. He’ll jump.
