There comes a certain freedom when one no longer has a reason to care. That is how I feel as a MInnesota Wild fan at this moment. The team has turned into humpty dumpty impersonators & can't be put back together. They have turned into geese & are laying the Golden eggs in three of their last 6 games, sorry could resist another analogy.
I personally am so disgusted with this team I will gladly not watch another Wild game this year. I will however watch my beloved Fighting Sioux this weekend play RPI. At least they play with passion & emotion. Sorry Gopher fans about your playoff selection but I digress. (can't resist getting in a shot @ Gopher fans)
I love the Wild, from Wes Walz's inspired play, to Roley the goalie making amazing saves. This team we currently has a heart but no heart beat, no passion, no striving for a higher standing. The team has self destructed faster than Linsey Lohan at a pharmacy with keys to the good stuff. I believe we no longer have a choice. We will have a new coach next season & we will have new players. Some players will be moved via trades or waivers if that doesn't work. Maybe Backstrom will get to see what the AHL is like. I believe he is a good goalie, as was Huet but the WIld cannot afford another season like this & paying a goalie 6 mill that could be going towards a scorer just doesn't hack it. Does he get sent back to Europe? I don't know, do they move him via re-entry waivers? This team needs a 180 degree turn before the next season. Its nothing personal, I like these players, ok most of them I should say, but this team has lead in its pockets & is trying to swim to shore. There is blood in the water, the sharks are swimming around this team to see whats going to be swimming by. We have the most important draft in the history of the team coming up since the inaugural season. The Wild must make changes & they must make them this off season. The fan base is fed up, season ticket holders are about to explode & their wallets implode. Pilot to Bombadir, drop the bomb.
