Boogaard Tribute: Hit Somebody

I had never heard of the Warren Zevon song "Hit Somebody" before Kevin Smith announced he was using it as the basis for the hockey movie he was writing. But, from the first time I heard it it made me think of Derek Boogaard.

I had hoped he would end up with a bit part or cameo in the movie, especially after he moved to the more media centric Rangers. After hearing of his death, I thought again of this song and it seemed only fitting to do a tribute to him based on it. As Wes Walz said, "He never really loved beating people up. I can tell you that for a fact. If you asked him, he would rather have been a 50-goal scorer."
