Boogaard's Brother Arrested on Drug Allegation

Some news no one wants to report...

The gist of the story is that Aaron Boogaard faces felony charges that stem from the night his brother Derek was found dead. I will reserve comment other than to say the family remains in our thoughts, and we wish them nothing but the best.

Update: From Russo... "Aaron Boogaard's attorney: "This a very unfortunate circumstance and we believe Aaron is involved because he may have potential information about a larger investigation. One thing is certain, the charges brought against Aaron have nothing to do with his brother, Derek Boogaard's death. The family continues to grieve the loss of Derek and is troubled by this turn of events, which makes the pain for the family even more difficult."

This is a tragic case.

I’m reserving judgment until later. I’m hoping it’s a give us a name and plead down situation, but I have a feeling regardless of what happens it’s gonna be ugly because of customs.

I’m just glad that there saying this isn’t related to Derek’s death. That would be the ultimate slap in the face to the family.

Statement from Aaron Boogaard’s attorney’s: “We are pleased that Aaron Boogaard is with his family, having been released from custody by both Hennepin County and U.S. immigration authorities. We will address the allegations in court rather than in the media, but note that Aaron was and remains devastated by his brother’s death. The entire Boogaard family has suffered tremendous loss and we ask that you respect their privacy as they continue to mourn the death of Derek.”
