Colton Gillies Signs Two Year Deal
The Wild continue to reach deals with their RFAs, locking up Colton Gillies for two years at a cap hit of $625K (numbers from Darren Dreger). This is not unexpected news, but it good to see the contracts getting done. Gillies will challenge for one of the open roster spots in training camp, and after the year he had in Houston, you can bet Mike Yeo will be keeping a close eye on him to find any reason to give him a spot. Update from Russo: "Gillies gets 1-way deal; QO on 2-way would have been 10% more of 787.5. He lowers base pay in exchange for assurance now. Good deal for him"
