Wilderness Walk for 9-30-2011: Game Day Edition
Turns out, old habits die hard, and so do new ones apparently. Like a smoker trying to kick the habit, this will be painful, frustrating, and brutal to watch. I speak, of course, of the second period nap. It doesn't look to be going anywhere any time soon, so we all may as well get used to it. That, or it is already time for a little "If you don't skate during the game, you'll skate after it."
Embarrassing if it is time for that already.
Today's walk has a range of topics, including the best look we've seen about Nick Johnson. So make the jump, and don't forget to give us a caption for the picture.

Holy suspensions batman...
Shanny is on a rampage against blows to the head. Will this trend go all year? Will top tier players get suspended in similar fashion? Is Gary giving him waaaaay too much power? I do like the video explanations though, kind of cool and proactive. I wish he would draw on them Madden style though and show exactly what the boundaries are for “head shots”.
go wild, love the Johnson acquisition.
"That was a goal-scorer's goal." (by definition, aren't they all)
I like the crackdown, personally. Under Campbell, he would have chosen one of the hits and expected it to send a message. Right now, players need to be paying attention. They are in control, and they MUST be in control. I sure hope it stays fair.

Dorsett
Maybe he’s jealous because Cal has more offensive skill than him and because the ladies drool over Cal and won’t give him the time of day

Will be at the game tonight. I’m not sure if anyone from HW will be there, but there will be two in the press box as well.
Still not sure if we will be there or not. Working on that.
