Wilderness Walk for 1-13-2012
New Minnesota Wild ticket promotion: One free 30 minute session with a psychiatrist with every ticket purchase.
Mike Yeo is angry, fans are angry, you have to imagine the GM and owner aren't pleased, and the players... well... they're... quiet. The comparisons will have to be drawn to last year's team, which really is too bad, but the collapse is similar, if earlier in the season. The test for Yeo is great, and no one outside of Edmonton wants to see him fail in this challenge.
It really is mind boggling at this point. Play 50 minutes of the system, dominate the Sharks, then quit for ten minutes and nearly lose. Play the system for the first ten minutes against the Hawks and dominate the game, then quit and get blown out. Earlier this year, I was asked "Why are the Wild so good?" My only answer was that they had bought in. At this point, they have sold out.
Sad, really.
Short Walk today, but we have some fun planned for the day, so stick around.
Wild News
Late addition:
Darren Wolfson interviews Mike Yeo - Great interview, including the wonderful news that Yeo could give a rip about "advanced" stats.
Wild reverts, takes step back at Chicago | StarTribune.com - At least the headline writers aren't using the word "regress," yet.
Captain Koivu in first All-Star Game | StarTribune.com - Clearly deserved. Now... win?
Yeo irate about Wild road loss | StarTribune.com - Good. He should be.
Wild's warts are in full view after loss to Blackhawks - TwinCities.com - Yep. Drop a house on someone already.
The fall of the Wild | Sports | Jock Itch | The A.V. Club Twin Cities - The AV Club picked an odd time to start talking Wild, but so be it.
Tending the Fields
The Third Intermission: Searching for Clues and Consistency - This could just as easily be about the big club.

Yeo
should warn everyone before the next game that they will be called out for individual lack of effort. Then the next day they can watch the film as a team and single out the ones that were slacking and berate the shit out of them! It’s a negative approach but it’s just so sickening.
Sometimes being called an asshole in front of your friends is what people need.

Master of unsustainable passive regression.
Extreme situations call for extreme measures
Put shock collars on the players and give them a jolt everytime they do something stupid or aren’t be aggressive. Hopefully they’re quick learners.

in that case..
might as well kidnap the families of those who fail us. Hold them hostage until the start winning again!
Hey, it works in mexico, whats to say it wouldnt work here?
I’m all for it, except Mikko would proabably just start screaming in finnish and whooping some asses instead of playing hockey.
