Yet another of the players that has seen only limited time in a Wild sweater has been called up from Houston. This time, it is Carson McMillan, a physical player whose game is very clear. He would sooner run you over than score a goal, and would take great pleasure in doing so. He'll take Colton Gillies' role on the fourth line. This is your chance, kid. Don't blow it.
We have already met McMillan, and you can too by visiting our post from last year. For now, here is the release from the Wild:
McMillan, 23 (9/10/88), has recorded eight points (3-5=8), 19 penalty minutes (PIM) and a plus-5 rating in 29 games with Houston this season. The 6-foot-1, 197-pound native of Brandon, Manitoba made his NHL debut with the Wild on April 3, 2011 at Detroit and registered a goal. In four games with Minnesota last season he recorded two points (1-1=2) and a plus-1 rating. McMillan registered 22 points (12-10=22) and 80 PIM in 78 regular season contests in 2010-11 with Houston and added five points (3-2=5) in 21 playoff games. He was originally selected by the Wild in the seventh round (200th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. McMillan wears sweater #45 for Minnesota.
