Weekly Wrap Up - Week 7

Marilyn Indahl-US PRESSWIRE

Wild: Mikko Koivu has returned to Minnesota. According to Russo, this is just for tax reasons and not an imminent sign that the lock out is ending. If there is appearing to be no end to the lock out, he is likely to return to Finland after January 1st.

Aeros: The Aeros had a successful weekend. They started off Friday night against the San Antonio Rampage. The Aeros went with Hackett instead of recently called up net minder John Curry who swapped places with Darcy Kuemper for the day allowed 1 goal and 2 goals were scored, 1 each by Zucker and Fontaine. After a Saturday off, they were in action again on Sunday against the number 1 Abbotsford Heat, again going with Hackett. This game would go to overtime with the Aeros being victorious, with Zucker tying the Overtime record by scoring the game winning goal 5 seconds in. The other goals in the game were scored by Fontaine and McIntyre. The Aeros are currently 3rd in the division and 6th in the conference overall.

Solar Bears: The Solar Bears started action Tuesday against the Kalamazoo Wings. John Curry was in net for the loss. Goals were scored by Lawrence, Peterson and Baker in the 4-3 loss. Thursday and Sunday were once again failed attempts to solve the Gwinnett Gladiators. Thursday, Hannu Toivonen gave it a shot for a 1-0 loss. Friday faced the same score and same results on with Darcy Kuemper in the net. The Solar Bears are 3rd in their division and 7th in the conference. They are in action tonight against Devon Setogutchi and the Ontario Reign.

Events: November 30 is Movember night for the Houston Aeros. Houston Readers can get their tickets at aeros.com. The Aeros continue to celebrate Movember for a few more days and updates can be found via their social media outlets. Donations can be made via aeros.com.
