Winter Classic 2013: Red Wings vs Maple Leafs?
So, it's sounding like the next winter classic will be hosted by the Red Wings in the Big House, which will allow a crazy amount of people to attend the game, though being able to follow the game might be difficult.
I am surprised, though not surprised, to see the Maple Leafs get the call as the opponent.

This one should be a bit more fun than the NYR/PHI
While I enjoyed the 24/7 show, I didn’t care much to watch the game. West-East is kind of a cool idea that maybe should stay.
I'm more surprised that it's a Canadian team
rather than the East vs West team. The cities are close to each other, so there is that local ‘rivalry’ possibility… and two teams with rather large followings. It makes sense, I’m just surprised that the Winter Classic has a Canadian team because it has been exclusively US teams… as that is an NBC contract game. I doubt you see a US team in the Heritage Classic.
