This matchup could be a fun one to watch. While DU and Michigan Tech are WCHA rivals, UND and SCSU have a fair amount of hate for each other. This is a true hockey rivalry, and one that likely ends up physical and testy. This is college hockey at its best.
Keep an eye on this one, because if UND is dumped from the tournament, downtown Saint Paul tends to empty out rather quickly for the rest of the weekend. Having lived in Grand Forks for five years, and attended UND for a couple of them, I know their fans are remarkably passionate, and they travel well. They remind me a bit of Jets fans. That's not a compliment.
Still, they are here, and they are loud. Enjoy.
