Mikko Koivu to (probably) play in the WC
An article in a Finnish newspaper about Koivu participating in the WC. Don't know if holds much interest here, but I'll throw it here anyway. There's stuff also about other Finnish players coming to the WC, which I'll omit. ------- Translated: Last years WC gold-winning cornerstones, captain Mikko Koivu and goalie Petri Vehanen have expressed their interest in playing in the WC tournament to head coach Jukka Jalonen. For a long time the participation if Minnesota Wild star center Koivu was uncertain, despite Minnesota losing early their chances for the NHL playoffs. Question has been both about Koivu's health and motivation. The Wild captain has been bothered this season by his shoulder injuries. Now they've been taken care of and interest towards the tournament has increased. If Koivu doesn't experience new setbacks, Jalonen doesn't have to worry about who plays top-line center in the WC team. That place belongs without question to Koivu. ------ The rest is about Vehanen. Sorry if this has been posted here already somewhere, didn't at least see it.
