Our Thoughts and Wishes of Safety to Our Friends in Northern Minnesota

Stay connected for news and updates

We'll get back to hockey shortly, as will our friends in Duluth. For now, we want you all to know we are thinking about you. Be safe.

Reading the news the past few days out of Duluth, the Iron Range, and many parts of northern Minnesota, we here at Hockey Wilderness are shocked by the devastation. Entire roads wiped off the map, homes lost, entire cities left wondering how to rebuild.

I've lived through this before. I lived in Grand Forks, ND for about five years. I've seen the power of nature up close and personal. I cannot say I know exactly what our friends throughout the north country are feeling right now, but I can empathize. It is still raw, but please know it can, and will, get better.

As of this writing, I have not read of any deaths (at least not human deaths), and for that, we can all be thankful. Property damage is breath taking, and it costs a monumental amount of money to fix, but the fact that no one has died has to be a blessing among the destruction.

To everyone in the Wilderness community impacted by this, please know you are in the thoughts of the entire staff and likely your fellow readers as well. Please be safe.
