PITTSBURGH - SEPTEMBER 28: Jake Dowell #28 of the Chicago Blackhawks mixes it up with Deryk Engelland #5 of the Pittsburgh Penguins at Consol Energy Center on September 28 2010 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. (Photo by Justin K. Aller/Getty Images)
According to WEAU reporter Bob Gallagher, Jake Dowell has agreed to a two year deal with the Wild. This is actually a pretty big move for a couple of reasons. 1) He's a decent depth 2-way center. 2) He has been friends with Ryan Suter since their time in the NDTP through their time with the Badgers and even today as they share representation through Neil Sheehy.
So... Jake Dowell, eh? Give me some specs you say? OK.
Everything on Youtube on this guy is him in a fight. There has to be some reasoning behind this, as right now, the Wild had (theoretically) room for one more forward. But, hey, if he's friends with Ryan Suter, he's friends with Ryan Suter. Is that what we see here? What do we think? Move to try to nail down Suter?
