With the huge number of forwards turning pro this year, where will they end up and where will the older forwards end up? Will anyone of the new pros or last year's Aeros start the season with the ECHL Solar Bears?
Larsson, Coyle, Zucker, Phillips, Bulmer
AHL Vets:
Palmieri, Rau, Broda, Foucault, Fontaine, McIntyre, McMillan, Dowell, possibly Veilleux, Palmer (remember him?)
Of these guys, quite a few need or deserve some top 6 playing time. Without a doubt the 5 new guys NEED to be playing top 6 minutes if they are going to reach their full potential, but there are quite a few of the "vets" that deserve it too. Fontaine, without a doubt, but it can also be argued that Palmer, Palmieri, Foucault, Broda, and Rau all deserve to play in the top 6 as well. Obviously, training camp will determine who plays where, but it'd be awfully tough to send a guy down to the ECHL who previously had been called up to the NHL(Foucault, Palmer, Palmieri, Rau, not to mention McIntyre, McMillan, Dowell, and Veilleux who are not top 6 candidates but have a number of NHL games under their belt). At the same time, it'd be hard to send any of the new guys down there considering most quality prospects simply jump straight to the AHL. What are you thoughts, will Houston just roll 4 scoring lines or will we see some higher quality guys going down to Orlando?
It definitely is going to get very interesting here soon with training camp coming up (still crossing my fingers the CBA gets done).
P.S. Sorry if I forgot anyone
