Hockey Movie Character MVP Bracket: Makenzie Brothers vs Birdie Burns

Stay connected for news and updates

Today, we finally move out of the first round, and into the Twilight Zone. At one point, we asked for nominations for Best Movie Character of all time. Not one of you nominated the Makenzie Brothers. They are some of my favorite hockey movie characters of all time, so I made an executive decision and added them in with a bye in the Mystery Alaska Division.

Why the Mystery, Alaska Division? Random chance, picked by a computer. Don't like it? Blame Google.

So, today, you get a match-up of Bob & Doug Makenzie vs Birdie Burns. To me, this isn't even close, but maybe each of you feels different. We'll have to wait and find out. Take off, eh? Hosers.

Makenzie Brothers (Strange Brew, 1983)

Birdie Burns (Mystery, Alaska, 1999)

From IMDB

When Mystery, Alaska's amateur hockey team accepts a challenge to play against the New York Rangers, the entire population must put their petty differences aside and pull together as their small town becomes the center of a nationally televised event.
