Wilderness Walk 10-11-2013: Finally, a W Edition

Eric Tangradi, clearly reenacting a very funny scene from Office Space for Mat Dumba. - Hannah Foslien

The Wild continued to dominate, but didn't continue to lose, against Winnipeg.

The Wild finally got a victory against Winnipeg, basically by doing the things that they had been doing for the first three games: out-possessing and out-shooting their opponents. Tonight, they did so by an especially wide margin, nearly doubling the Jets in just about every conceivable possession category. So it was good to see the Wild have something other than a loser point to show for their efforts.

The Wild have 4 points, putting them back into the logjam of their division/conference. So that's a pretty good thing. The Wild will have to keep it going against Dallas on Saturday.

So make sure to counteract those pesky, well-traveling Stars fans! But until then, let's go on to the Walk!

Wild News

Wild holds off Winnipeg for first victory of the season | Star Tribune- The Minnesota Wild: Victory. Yay.

Postgame: We finally learned the Wild's victory song | Russo's Rants | StarTribune.com- What do you think the Wild's victory song should be?

Wild notes: Prosser waits for his chance | Star Tribune- Russo writes about Nate Prosser getting a raw deal in Minnesota, as Ger sits alone in a darkened room, with only his laptop for illumination, and seethes.

Minnesota Wild's Jason Pominville embraces line change - TwinCities.com- That's good, as playing with Mikael Granlund isn't exactly a fourth-line assignment.

Wild follow same risky low-scoring formula and pull out 2-1 win against Winnipeg- State of Hockey News recaps the game, and gives an update on Kurtis "The Bust" Gabriel.

Minnesota Wild Recalls Goaltender Darcy Kuemper- This also happened. Thankfully, Josh Harding played well enough to not necessitate him playing.

Penner reunites with Getzlaf-Perry, Etem debuts tonight for Ducks | ProHockeyTalk- With no shots in his 15 minutes, Emerson Etem was a relative non-factor in tonight's Ducks game. However, he's a player that I would be very excited to see play.

Joe Thornton’s four-goal game celebration would probably be better than yours | Puck Daddy - Yahoo Sports- Joe Thornton. What a baller. However, I would like to add for the record that I've taken my rooster out on much more quotidian occasions.

I'm probably going to be disappearing off the face of the earth for the next few weeks, as Pokemon Y will be in my possession in less than 16 hours time. Have fun in your "real world", suckers!
