Season Woes/mistakes.

With tonight's loss to St. Louis we find ourselves in the same spot we have the past two seasons. We are now injury riddled, struggling offensively and fighting for the 8th playoff spot with several teams. We need to ask why is stoner still in the lineup? The way Yeo benched bouchard and moved heatley to the third line, he should have made stoner pay, his physicality has not been effective enough to bother keeping him in the lineup following a terrible +/- after the last few games. On paper, heatley should be up on the first line, koivu and parise digging the puck out and feeding heaters big body in front of the net worked better than pominville, parise and koivu all skating around behind the net and in the corners, someone needs to be out front and battling in front of the net, too bad heater is out now. On another note, our guys are getting there asses kicked and I haven't seen a fight in like 5 games now...our enforcers need to step up and do their jobs. When we've got guys sitting out and getting messed up, guys like konopka need to live up to their talk and throw their fists around out there, they are getting paid to fight, and they are getting paid alot more to take less punishment than your average mma fighter takes. On the positive side, if there is one it's that we will face some easier teams coming up. I see if we don't make the playoffs this year, maybe we should bring in a new coach who will have the attitude of say Mike Keenan circa 1993 Rangers, and just light fires, bench players and motivate them to battle like they actually are a gladiator in a fight to the death.
